11-28-02
(12:39am) Listening to Lawrence Arms. I actually have some new daily art up. What a surprise! I'm going to be having paintings and such set up and for sale at an art event coming up on December 20th at Goldstar in downtown St. Pete. Come on out after 6pm and buy some stuff off me. I slept all day so I could stay up all night and be productive. I was going to go to the Globe but my bike got a flat tire so I trudged back home. I finally got Slap some Advantage to kill her fleas and now she's more spunky yet bored because she has nothing to kill. I'm hungry...bring me some turkey. -josh-

11-27-02
(2:46am) Listening to The Broadways. I just updated a ton of pictures of some of my paintings. I also added pics of the three new ones I did. Today is the last day on E-Bay for some of the art so go bid on it. I got a great painting in the mail today from Joe Kletz. Check it out: Joe Painting. It's inpired by my "You cut off my goddamn hand, lady!" painting, which he bought. E-mail him at stoopidcomix@hotmail.com and tell him you want to see more of his comics and paintings.

Yesterday was 6 months for Erin and me so my lazy self decided to sleep the whole day. Doips! I'm off to go draw. -josh-

11-25-02
(7:46pm) Listening to Lagwagon. I'm sitting here eating pizza, drinking Coke, and listening to the new Fat Wreck Chords comp with the new Lawrence Arms song on it. I'm hooked on the Dillinger 4 song that's on here. I didn't wake up until 5pm today and now I'm finally going to be getting around to working on some paintings or other comic junk. I'm accepting commissions for paintings if you're looking for a Christmas present for someone, I can paint pretty much anything you'd like or I can paint an asinine amount of robots. There's only 36 days left in the year so I have to start busting ass if I want to have these next six books I'm coming out with done by then. Bling! -josh-

11-24-02
(3:55am) Watching TV. New paintings and Comic of the Week up. Go bid on the stuff on E-Bay! Bye! -josh-

11-20-02
(9:28pm) Listening to Alkaline Trio. I put up a new Comic of the Week. It's an oldie but a goodie. I put more junk on E-Bay, too. If you'd like to pre-order the pack of the next 6 books I'm working on, send $5 to my P.O. Box.

Yesterday, I got the best stuff in the mail! Mandy, Holly, Sara and Jon sent me a bunch of gifts all enclosed in a Super Mario Brothers lunch box. I got an M.C. Hammer VHS tape, a Hulk Hogan cassette tape, some great mix tapes and CD's from all of them, some nice letters, Michael Jackson stickers (to hang on my baby as I dangle it from a balcony), letters to spell out "I Hate Josh" on a bracelet (Mandy told me that's for Erin) and other random things. I love it all!! Thank you! I also got a bunch of copies of the latest Sink Hole 'Zine so go pick it up at the Globe. I also bought a David Johansen (aka Buster Poindexter) CD, the new Mike Felumlee CD, (with Dan Andriano helping out), a Magnetic Fields one, the new Usuals album, and the Dead Milkmen live CD.

I spent a great evening with Erin last night as we ate dinner with her family and just hung out. Things are better between us but I keep joking around with her acting like she broke up with me. Once again, go bid on my E-Bay stuff because I want to sell off some of this stuff. -josh-

11-19-02
(1:39am) Watching "Ghost World". Vertical Composition has been updated with one of my recent comics but most of you probably already saw that one. I'm working on my next written piece for it. Stu and I put on dresses last night and made sure our balls were chilled by the cold night air. We went to Wendy's and then I stayed up all night drawing and watching multiple showings of this video by The Streets. Today, we watched the Game Show Network and I ate so much food. I'm working on trying to find a new comic to post for Comic of the Week. I have my new paintings I'll be putting on the site soon, too. -josh-

11-17-02
(5:45pm) Listening to Louis Prima (oh, come back to life, Louis). I have no voice whatsoever right now. I was sick and then I got better only to get a nice bout of laryngitis. On Thursday night, Stu and I went to Erin's play and I had the worst chills and wanted to pass out. On Friday, it was the busiest lunch ever for me and it was a lot of fun at work. I left there and rushed down to see the new Harry Potter movie, which was great. I recorded "1984" off of FLIX and I still have to watch it. It rained all day yesterday and I did 5 new paintings and felt real comfortable being creative and watching "Pecker" and "Ghost World". I went to work and people were laughing at how rotten my voice is. I'm taking off in a bit with Michael so we can eat some chili he made. My dad sent me an article that Alicia Warrington, drummer of the Saginaw band Fudge Gun and someone that went to Arthur Hill, was just named the new drummer for Kelly Osbourne. It's great to see people who got out of the hell-hole making names for themselves. I'm all decked out in my "Halby Durzell" outfit today and it is so cozy. Go eat a big fat one. -josh-

11-13-02
(9:33pm) Listening to The Velvet Teen. The Bosstones show was the best show ever. Beforehand, Stu and I killed time by watching TV and putting together the last copies I had of my latest free book. We left for the show at 7:00pm and got to the State when Avoid One Thing was starting. Aaron M. F. Buss just turned 21 the other day so we decided to buy drinks and we got the strongest stuff they had. I drank mine real fast and started chainsmoking for the rest of the night. I started running my mouth when Big Wig got on the stage and I realized that when I drink, I can tell what bands I like and don't like a whole lot faster. I really didn't like Big Wig.

I started getting a little more plastered and was so happy when the Bosstones took the stage. I sang along and skanked and smoked and rocked out like I've never rocked out at a show before. My boy Stu was there to share in the fun and we were so happy. It got done and they did an encore with Dicky Barrett wearing a St. Pete Parrots hockey jersey and saying not to fuck with the Parrots because they were tough.

After the show, we headed outside to hand out comics and there were about seven of us that were doing it and we got rid of a ton. Stu, Zack, and I went to the Globe and then to get beer. We drank at Zack's, where I ate some Snap's (square dog biscuits) and got naked and strutted around just wearing an apron. I was told I need to shave my ass. I was pretty gone by then. We went to the Rude Squad show after that but got there when they were playing the last song so we left to go drink some more. It was nice and rainy and Stu and I talked about all sortsa stuff and then left to my apt. at 1:30am. We drank more and I talked shit to people on the computer. I e-mailed Erin some real obnoxious dribble and e-mailed Lauren about how I couldn't let her borrow money because I didn't have any. She had called me earlier to ask me for some and I said sure but then I realized I would be going without if I did. She only gets ahold of me if she wants something anyway so I should've realized that. I went to bed at 3:30am and woke up early for work and stumbled around a bit but felt like a million bucks.

I went to work and had good conversations with people who came in and then when I got done, Stu and I walked and ate some food at a place we never went before and then I biked over to Erin's so we could talk about us but we didn't make a good effort at it. She's not too happy with me right now. After that, Stu and I walked to the Pier and went on top and drew in the cold night air. We're now just chilling at my place and I hope you're all a little smarter from reading this junk. love, josh!

11-12-02
(2:44am) Listening to The Velvet Teen. I had a really nice night! I needed really bad to get the hell out of St. Pete for a little bit and going to a show in Orlando was just the type of fun I was clamoring. Jen and I left around 8pm (which was also when the doors opened for the show). We listened to They Might Be Giants and some other stuff and made it to Orlando in an hour and twenty minutes, about 40 minutes earlier than when we should've gotten there. It was great to see people out having fun in cool downtown hangouts, especially on a Monday night. We got to The Back Booth, which turned out to be a really great place to see a show. It wasn't smokey at all because of good ventilation and an excellent air conditioning system. It was about 80 degrees tonight so you could definitely imagine how it might've felt if there was no a/c. We got there just in time to see the second band, Sound the Alarm, which I really liked. The Velvet Teen was also really good and they put me in a trance that just made me not think about anything. We got out of there around 12:30am and wandered off to a gas station where I bought donuts, a brownie, some chips, a Coke and then a hot chocolate for Jen that all came to about $3.50! It was great because I was a happy camper for getting junk food so cheap. There was a sprinkler outside watering the lawn that wasn't working right so it had this huge stream of water shooting straight up so we pulled the car up to it acting like we hit it and then Jen took a pic of me at the wheel acting like I was all freaked out. We drove home on I-4 through the fog and listening to good music and having a great time just wandering through the night without any horrendous Florida traffic. Life really does rock. Now, later today, I get to see The Mighty Mighty Bosstones! Blee! -josh-

11-11-02
(5:17pm) Watching The Simpsons. I have the new Comic of the Week up. It's a new "Peter and His Apartment" installment and my contribution to the upcoming Dirty Josh Chronicles #8. I didn't go to the flea market so I don't have another exciting bargain report for you. It's so nice and warm so Slap and I have been laying around just being lazy. I did get a few more comic things done, though. Go bid on the E-Bay stuff so I can start saving money to buy a house. -josh-

11-10-02
(12:59pm) Listening to Hum (over and over). I got my new glasses and I love them. I can hardly tell I'm wearing them. I can see perfect again now so no more squinting for me. Erin's homecoming wasn't too fun but work went real nice. I'm going with Jen to see The Velvet Teen in Orlando tomorrow and I'm wandering off to the flea market with my pal Katt sometime today. Go look at the pics page to see a picture of the third person to get a JoshComics tattoo. He got the dancing kid from the first daily art, "You can't dance in a space helmet!" It's truly rocking. There's another pic of it on the Flippity Fun page. See you later! -josh-

11-9-02
(3:53am) Listening to The Broadways. I got an eye exam earlier on Friday afternoon and my pupils were dilated for the rest of the night. My vision was blurry and I looked like a big bozo riding my bike home with some slip-on sunglasses that went under my eyeglasses. I looked like an old man with glaucoma. I got home and tried to call people and I couldn't even read the numbers on the phone. I took a nap before work and had a nightmare for the first time in a real long time. I woke up and drool shot out of my mouth because in the dream I was about to get shot and I was pretty freaked out. I've been having the most vivid dreams of my life lately and I can't tell if I've been sleeping or some of the stuff has happened.

I went to work and one of my pupils had dilated bigger than the other at one point and the right side of my head hurt. Now, they're better. Aaron Mutha Fuckin' Buss is back! I've missed him a lot. I get to pick up my new glasses after noon today and then I have to get ready for Erin's homecoming dance. I'm going to look swank! -josh-

11-7-02
(8:14pm) Listening to The Pilfers, Go check out the ton of stuff up for auction by me and Stu. We even added some original comic art and I added my new painting I did today. It's chilly out and I have the heat on. I need a nap. Thank you for supporting this junk. -josh-

11-6-02
(4:21pm) Listening to The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Yesterday was Election Day and I wrote myself in for candidate for governor and so did some other people, too. Thanks! It went from being almost 90 and summer-like this morning to feeling like a typical FL Fall day. I sold two more paintings today and two yesterday! It's so very exciting. I can finally get some new glasses because I told myself that I'd use money from paintings for specs. I'm really hungry. Bring me some food! love, josh!

11-5-02
(12:53am) Listening to Rusty. I'm back with all sorts of new junk for you kids! There's a new Comic of the Week that was added yesterday and a new painting put up for auction on E-Bay. I also did two new paintings over the weekend and I just added those to the site. Chauncey #11 is complete and about half of (Not So) Quarterly Comics #16 is also done. I'm writing my new column, decided who I'm voting for tomorrow (GO VOTE!!), and have been waking up early. Yay me! -josh-

10-31-02
(4:37pm) Listening to Lawrence Arms. Happy Halloween everyone! Yesterday was Erin's birthday so me and her family went to eat at China City. I sold a few more paintings and I've begun work on the latest issue of that series involving America's favorite pigdog.

To anyone who can, go vote on Tuesday! It's especially going to be a crazy election here in Florida so you better go do it. You feel good when you vote, too.

"Dial T for Terrorist" is in two new issues of 'zines this week: Burn Brandon #11 (thanks Bob!) and Broken Lines #1 (thanks Aaron!). I'm off. -josh-

10-28-02
(11:36pm) Listening to Big D and the Kids Table.

Go see the greatness of Jean at: http://www.deviantart.com/view/838792 and see the awesome Chauncey pic she drew. Give her a hug.

Right after I typed the last entry, I was chatting with Mandy and I spilled a drink on my keyboard making it not work. It was funny because I had to cut and paste stuff pretty much one letter at a time to let her know why I wasn't typing to her. So, I tried forever to fix it and dry it out but it didn't want to obey my commands to work. I read some Harry Potter 4 and then went to bed. I woke up too early to go to brunch so I went back to bed and woke up around 9:30am. I went to work for brunch and acted goofy with me and Becky working hard fo' the money. I called Stu to make sure he still wanted to go to Gainesville and he, of course, forgot. I left work at 2 and saw my beautiful Erin for a sec and then headed home, Stu showed up and I impressed him with my guitar skills (I actually didn't and I don't have any skills). We left and got out to the Fang-Shooey practicing wherehouse too late because everyone had left already so we went and got some McDonald's. I tried flinging ice cream at some lady's car but I got some on me and then more on Stu's car. We went to Office Depot so I could get a new keyboard and I then got a new scanner, too. Stu dropped me off and I spent the rest of the day being a loser and cleaning and reading.

Stu-artist and Christina (St. Pete's cutest couple; decided on by me and Erin) came over at noon today and almost got a nice view of me naked but thankfully I looked in the peephole before I answered my door. We were going to go to one of the many museums here but it was closed so we wandered around in search of food. We were walking by a construction site and some guys whistled at Christina so I started screaming "Oh yeah, you like this stuff, huh? It's Sullivan Gone Wild!" and I lifted up my shirt and probably made the worker guys nearly fall off the building. Serves them right for fucking with any of us. We went to Fortunato's, where a guy we termed 'Pizza King' told Christina to stop messing with me because she threw my hat on the ground so then I proceeded to act like I was her lord. We walked by the construction area and I screamed at the gawking old motherfuckers to get back to work. We all came back to my house and then Stu and I realized we had things waiting for us at the post office. I got my new Big D and the Kids Table CD (they have a Rudiments cover on it!) and Stu got many, many treats from his grandma. We sat around and looked at old comics and stuff. I called Erin and was being real stubborn about having to go to her homecoming and that manifested into me hating everything having to do with holidays. I then realized I'm a dick and a real hard-headed one at that. I called her back and told her I was sorry and then I went to bed. I just woke up not too long ago thinking it was later in the day on Tuesday and now I'm even dumber. -josh-

10-27-02
(2:40am) Listening to The Aquabats! Happy Time Travel Day! Yesterday, it was 5 months for me and Erin so we ate at Atlanta Bread Company and saw "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". I told her that I want to do a comic called "My Big Fat Greek Salad." I'm still hoping to go to Gainesville today for the Skalloween show. Bid on my 2nd E-Bay painting, you fucks! I might've sold two of the new ones. -josh-

10-23-02
(11:40pm) Listening to The Peacocks on Mailorder for the Masses. Plea for Peace was so amazing!! I had to work late today and I hurried home where Stu was waiting for me so we could hurry and put together copies of the latest free mini-comic. We were cranking them out and I had about 200-250 total to hand out. I also threw in the rest of the punk comics and Wither flyers I had into my backpack. We went to Checkers and walked over to Jannus Landing from Stu's place. We got there at about 6:15pm and I ran into Brendan (singer/bassist for Lawrence Arms) and he gave me a goofy look when he saw me probably thinking "Oh no, it's that fuckin' comic kid." I gave him a comic and wandered around. I looked at all the cool LA stuff for sale and then they started playing (Brendan announced that it was their 434th show). I felt like a schmoe singing by myself but then Andi showed up and we were jumping around and screaming the songs. It was so spectacular to have a cohort in this madness and then we got all the songs directed towards us because we were the only ones getting into it. She had made a sign saying "Faintly Falling Ashes" and got them to play it for us, "the coolest kids there". Dumb emo kids not knowing what they've been missing. They had this guy from Japan taking pics and they said he had requested a song and it turned out to be "Hey, what time is 'Pensacola: Wings of Gold' on anyway?", my favorite song in the whole world and inspiration for the painting of the same name I did and sent to the band. Andi and I screamed it and were so happy. The set ended and I looked at Stu and Jared (who showed up somewhere in there) and I was just beaming. I wandered over to the merch table and bought four new shirts, a LA hat, some stickers, patches, buttons, and The Broadways Broken Star LP. I got a good deal on it all and gave the merch guy a $5 tip. I shoved all the stuff in my backpack and Common Rider had just about begun. We rocked out to them and then world-famous Cristy Road of Green 'Zine fame came over and we hugged and jumped around. She is so cool. She gave me a copy of her latest issue, too. I hung out with her for a bit. Next up was Cursive and me and Stu dug them. Oh, by the way, I was wearing my 'I Hate Emo, I'm not sad enough for it' Chauncey shirt. Perfect place to be wearing it in front of all these emo kids. Poison the Well played next and Stu and I sat down because we were sick of standing and we weren't getting too into the screamo. I noticed that Jesse Michaels (lead singer of Common Rider and Operation Ivy) was trying to climb the tree next to me to watch the show and to read but a security guy pulled him down but not before I got a good picture. Hopefully, it turned out. I saw that Cristy gave him a 'zine so I went over and gave him a comic. I was walking away and he told me to wait so he could read my shirt and he called Chauncey "rad". Ha ha ha! Tracy then went to ask Lawrence Arms if they wanted to stay the night at my place but they said they were already were staying with someone else. Her and I walked over and signed the suicide prevention petition to get more funding and saw that Neil (Lawrence Arms drummer) was manning the Asian Man/Take Action/Plea for Peace table. I got a pic of him and bought us the "Mailorder for the Masses" comp because they were only $1. I said bye to Neil and he said "Bye Josh" and I felt giddy because he remembered my scrawny ass from me talking to him earlier when he said he saw my painting I did for them and that he liked it. We went back to hang by Stu and Tracy gave a couple of the Cursive guys my comic and they read that damn thing from front to back and it was so weird. We went out of the gates of Jannus a few songs before Thursday stopped playing so we could be ready to hand out comics and flyers. A couple of the Fat Aggression guys were there too and they were cool. Me, Tracy, and Stu unleashed everything we had and people took our stuff so fast. I only found 3 of my comics laying on the ground. We gave everything away and felt so happy. Some people came up to me like Britney and introduced themselves to me because I'd only talked to them online. We also met some real nice people, too. I'm so happy! Thank you everyone for a great night. -josh-

10-21-02 (part 2)
(10:31pm) Listening to Parka Kings. Me and my whole lot went to go see "Bowling for Columbine" at Baywalk. It was such a great documentary. In my whole little group it was me, Stu, Brian, Christina, Kathleen, Allison, Joe, Bill, Alfie, Pam, and Jenny and many other Globe people. We seemed to be the only ones to react to a lot of that stuff in the film so that added to my want and need to become mayor. All this shoddy governing that leads to more violence and hate. There was a lot of stuff shot up just south of where Stu and I are from (Saginaw, MI) and it took me back to there where it's a lot more violent and hate runs more rampant. I should run for mayor of Saginaw someday. It's the land of venison, hunting, guns, crime, etc. It's a rotten place to raise a family. But, I'll clean up this fuckin' town. I saw a ton of cops last night just hanging out by Crescent Lake last night wasting time. There's going to be a protest coming up against the cops harassing the punks. Fuck the police. -josh-

10-21-02
(4:59pm) Listening to Lawrence Arms. Hi flipper-faces. Let me catch you up on the exhilarating life of a Josh Sullivan. On Saturday, I went to work and got a fabulous Chauncey pumpkin from Jaimie. Work went by and somewhere in there I found a toad outisde so I had Stu take it over to Mirror Lake. Then, I invited people over to hang out at the Dirty Josh Love Dungeon. We called infomercials and watched Pete and Pete. Christina said she'd have sex with Stu if he tied his penis behind him so he ended up tying a phone cord on his dick to his ear. She didn't sleep with him, though. I woke up around 5:30pm on Sunday and worked on paintings. So far, I've done three new ones like a jester and a robot. I rode my bike over to Erin's to feed her cats and then came back home. Stu and I went to Taco Bell and then back to my place where I painted more and more. I fell asleep around 6am and woke up at 2pm to go with Stu to buy Tony some beer. I got a cool birthday present from Stu's family and yet no Buster Keaton book or Plea for Peace tickets yet in the mail. Arrghh! Fuckin' people. Ah well, beer-thirty. -josh-

10-19-02
(7:47pm) Listening to Baker Act (anyone have any songs by this FL band?). Hi all! Today, I went with Michael to Tampa to buy a gillion art supplies. I bought the tiniest pen size for my Rapidograph set. I think I just need 5 more to make a grand total of 13 pens. I bought more paint and canvas board, too. We ate at the best little sub shop and then he took me back home. I then biked over to Erin's to feed her cats. I took Slap with me and she was a true menace. Erin's cat, George was pissed that I brought her and kept trying to chase her out. I now just got home and I'm going to paint some backgrounds before I have to go to work. Bid on my paintings. -josh-

10-18-02
(4:08pm) Listening to The Impossibles. My finger is hurting me like crazy because I cut it at work today. I've been forgetting to mention how amazing the weather has been lately. It's put everyone in a really good mood. I was just outside hanging with Stu and Tony and the cat. I was walking her around the yard and she chased lizards. We almost got hit when a little squirrel fell out of the tree and landed with a thud on the ground about 5 feet from me. Slap took off after it so fast but didn't catch it. Now, she's sad because she isn't outside.

If I don't go to sleep in the next few minutes, I'm going to try to finish the new Comic of the Week that Josh Griffith and I wrote. Maybe I'll throw up some new Daily Art, too. Bye-bye! -josh-

p.s. The painting got its first bid so I'm excited that the damn thing is going to sell.

10-17-02 (part 2)
(11:13pm) Watching TV. The E-Bay onslaught has begun: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=914266870. I'm going to probably be adding a painting a week. I showed Erin the painting I made for her birthday and she really liked it. I bought a really nice frame for it and a ton of canvas board from Michael's. I bought the new Mustard Plug CD, too. My beautiful girlfriend and I went down to the Bay tonight and looked at the stars. It felt like a first date. -josh-

10-17-02
(2:50am) Wactching TV. The message board is back and a lot of stuff has finally been updated. I've been painting so a ton of new work will be added on here. Today, I took Slap outside with a makeshift harness and we walked around the yard as she attempted to catch lizards. Stu and I went to Checker's and I flung chili fries at cars with a spork. We then went to the store but didn't play "Shopping for Others" because no one was buying a lot of stuff except me and Stu. bye bye. -josh-

10-15-02
(5:18pm) Watching "The Simpsons". Oh boy, what a great 3-day birthday! Ha ha ha! Let's see if I can remember everything.

On Saturday, I didn't wake up until 4pm and I bumbled around for a bit until Erin came over and then Stu. It only took a minute for me to look the part of Calvin but it took awhile to make Stu look like Hobbes. We put a ton of make-up and face paint on his body. Erin looked beautiful all dressed up as Marilyn Monroe. We ate some food down with Tony and then we left around 9pm to go to The Globe. It was packed in there but a lot of the people I had never seen before. It was just a normally busy Saturday night. I can't believe at how many people didn't dress up. That's cool, though, because it just gave us that did more attention.

I went around and said hi to everyone and realized that most people are complete dolts. "Josh, why didn't you dress up?" was a common thing I heard. I guess me looking like Calvin and Stu looking like Hobbes had nothing to do with the costume party. "Why did Stu dress up like a tiger?" Cod damn, people are fucks. Martine gave me a lovely bottle of rum (yum, yum, yum!) and then Ryan, Ally, Jared, Stu and I headed over to the Emerald so they could buy me a drink. We didn't go in, though, because there was a show going on and we didn't want to pay the $3 cover. So, Ryan promised to get me drunk on Sunday. We went back to The Globe and I kept getting more and more stuff from people. Stu gave me his digital camera, Erin bought me the "Harry Potter" movie and a Ralph Wiggum poster, JoEllen got me a great book on everything "Tom & Jerry", I got a wooden Curious George with car from Christina, a Mario figure from Brian, Tracy gave me a Bart Simpson Action Watch and a shirt with an iron-on on the Chauncey/emo girl comic, a robot painting Becky, Diana, and Alix pitched in to get me, candy and toys from a lot of people and a bunch of other stuff. Everyone sang "Happy Birthday" and ate cake and rocked out. At some point, Meg and I went into the bathroom and changed clothes. I put on a blonde wig and looked like Britney Spears (with hairy legs and boxer shorts poking out from under the skirt). The guys who didn't know who I was were checking me out because I make a cute girl. The pics of that are priceless. I'll have those up soon. Meg is great. She made a lot cuter Calvin than I did, too. People started filing out and I hung around to act goofy. After that, around 3am, Stu, Todd and I went to Jared's but he was passed out and his party was pretty much over so we went to my place and watched "Pecker", which Mitchy B. gave me for my birthday. Now, I have all my favorite movies on VHS or DVD. Becky came by for a bit and then her and Todd left. Then, I got Eric, Allison, and Kathleen to swing by and eat candy with us. Eric and the Rude Squad boys bought me a "Cheer Up, Emo Kid" shirt. Those three left and Stu and I fell asleep from 8am-2pm and I was all happy and chipper on Sunday.

I just chilled by myself and attempted to type up these words but couldn't. Ryan came over with a delicious box of many beers and was a true pal in making my birthday a happy one. Phil swung by while we were watching "Pete and Pete" and then Stu scuddled his ass back to my apt. We ate pizza and drank a lot. Mitchell and this girl Kristin came by and we watched "Kung-Pow" and some movies that Pat and I made and a bunch of other stuff. Ryan left and Brian and Christina came over and then Mitchell and Kristin left. Stu and me and them drank and watched "Pecker" again and "Space Ghost", "Invader Zim", "The Simpsons", "Family Guy", and more. We kept going outside in the alley to smoke cigarettes and I kept saying things like "Shut up, the giant frogs are going to eat you!" and other hilarities. After about my 7th or 8th beer, I started crawling around my floor not wanting to have my kitchen beads hit me. Oh yeah, Christina fell asleep and I decorated her with a bunch of my toys and Slap and then she woke up and called Slap a traitor for not protecting her from our tomfoolery. Around 7am, we started watching "Harry Potter" but we all got exhausted so we zonked out.

Stu's boss called him at about 10am and asked why he wasn't in work and he said that he didn't think he had to come in because it was Columbus Day, which was really funny. His boss then told him not to come in the next day either so now Stu is a bum...well, not really. Brian and Christina woke up at about 2pm after I kept finding it funny to mumble on purpose and when I kept demanding that McDonald's deliver me breakfast (I was still drunk at this point). I didn't wake up until 6pm when Erin came over so Stu and I cleaned up my apt. and ate pizza. We all finished watching "Harry Potter" and I got pretty moody after we went to The Globe. I'm getting tired of always being entertainment for some people. I hung out and drew with Stu and then went home. I won the E-Bay auction for a 1st edition hardcover of Buster Keaton's autobiography and stayed up reading and being grumpy. I woke up early and went to work today, where it was pretty busy. It was a "Who's Who" of the Globe as every Global seemed to come in today. I'll have more pics Thursday after Stu and I play a game of "Shopping for Others" at Publix tomorrow. -josh-

p.s. Thank you everyone for a great birthday!

10-12-02
(4:09am) Sitting in silence. Here's a funny story:

I had called Stu earlier to ask him if he was coming into my work because I had bought him a Mighty Mighty Bosstones ticket for a going away present because he's going back up to Saginaw for awhile next month and then out to Arizona. He was so completely drunk, it was great. I then called him back later and told him not to come down because we were closing but JoEllen told me to act like a girl. so I started acting like I was this hooker that was waiting for him downstairs at his building and I kept demanding $100 that he owed me. I said that he met me at a club and that he wanted me to show him a good time so I said I would for $100, gave him the good time and now I wanted my money. He was going nuts because he thought he did something he couldn't remember and he thought I was some girl ready to get some thug on his ass. JoEllen then got on the phone and started messing with him and he was so freaked out and then I told him it was me and he said he was going to beat my ass and that he was going to make that into a comic. I was laughing so hard. He's going to hate me.

I pledged $50 to the WMNF pledge drive and got Plea for Peace tickets as an incentive. Whee! I'm so excited about my party. Hope you're going to be there. -josh-

10-8-02
(4:21pm) Listening to Louis Prima and Keely Smith. Man, nothing beats Louis Prima. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODD WEBB! I was sooooo late for work today. I felt like such a fuckin' schmoe. I got my Slapstick Superhero 7" in the mail today and listened to "Guy Smiley" and "Johnny" over and over. I'm going to go do my new daily art. Meat! -josh-

10-7-02
(2:41am) Listening to Face First. How do you like the new home page background? It makes for a great computer desktop background as well. Just right-click it and you're well on your way to being brainwashed by many tiny heads of Comic Josh. I stayed up all night, went to breakfast with Stu and Brian and got to see Erin. I woke up at 6:30pm and have been doing nothing until now. Whee for me! -josh-

10-4-02
(4:48pm) Watching my Lawrence Arms/Broadways tape I got in the mail today. Yep, I finally got the damn thing. The audio sucks horribly on it but, oh well. Sorry about the site inconveniences the past day or so. I'm thinking of keeping the message board off so unless I get a barrage of e-mails telling me to put it back up, that's the way it's going to stay. Stu gave me a ton of books and paper and all sorts of junk. My apt. is in such disarray but I don't give a shit. -josh-

10-1-02
(12:54am) Listening to Mandy Tape #3 or #4 with some No Doubt on it. Hi everyone. I've been avoiding the computer so much. I reformatted everything and am only adding the stuff I need back onto it. It's a lot faster and a lot less annoying. You know what is annoying? My goddamn air conditioner. It keeps blowing a fuse and making most of the stuff in my apt. go out so I've had to resort to working on stuff in the heat. I've been sick the past few days and it's been made worse by that fucking cooling contraption. I've tried to get the maintenance people for my building to come and fix it but I guess they don't love me. I haven't been wanting to really work on anything because I've been reading the third Harry Potter book but I did a cool piece last night that I'm going to put up for sale on the site. I haven't been in the mood to do the art for the calendar that Stu and I are doing. Crystal is touting it as a JoshComics calendar still but I think that's a little fucked-up if Stu is doing half of the art. She's donating her portion of the money made on the calendar to RAINN and I'll be donating mine to CBLDF (Comic Book Legal Defense Fund) and Stu said he wants to donate to something, too. I have a bunch of other crap to do so I hope I can get it all done by the deadlines. The batch of the new comics are hopefully going to be out by mid-November. Joe Kletz sent me a great strip that I'm going to use in the new Dirty Josh Chronicles.

Erin and I had a lovely dinner tonight with Brian, Christina, Shawn, and Missie. We hung out with little pretty kitties and squirrels and remarked at how awesome Fox's "Celebrity Boot Camp" was. It was priceless to see Coolio sad because he had to shave his moustache. Hey, if you already didn't know, there's a brand new Comic of the Week up! Thanks again to Rob G. and his uprisingpunk.com newsletter promotion of all the Comics of the Week. -josh-

9-26-02
(1:45am) Listening to Lawrence Arms. Go to www.punkandjunk.com and say hi to Squid. He's a really nice guy. If you're up in MI, go to the Flint Local before they have to close because of you fucks not going to any shows there. Every goddamn good band has played there. -josh-

9-25-02
(6:30pm) Listening to American Steel. I don't really want to type so I'll keep it short. I'm running for mayor of St. Petersburg in 2004 and I am doing a 2003 calendar. More info on both soon. I did the Comic of the Week for next week. It's about Chauncey and some emo girl. E-mail me if you want to see it. -josh-

9-23-02
(3:23am) Listening to Less than Jake. Oh man, I had a great night! I stayed up til about 10am and slept all day and got up around 7. I was just bumbling around not really getting anything done. At 10, the Fang-Shooey boys; Mitchell, Ryan, and Jason came over to see if they could snag me to take pictures for a promotional pack they're getting together on the band. I said yeah and we took off to the 7-11 I'm banned from but still go there to buy film and where we ran into Melissa Sue. It was then off to the Pier to take pics. I'm not a professional photographer but I was putting my artistic abilities into the picture taking and (hopefully) got some great shots. We walked down to the big tree down by Beach Drive and then by Baywalk. We went into the parking garage and then to the roof of that where Ryan and Jason were shoving their cocks in their socks just like the Chili Peppers. As soon as they did, an old security guard came out and said we couldn't be on the roof. I got a somewhat decent picture out of it. The guard was real cool saying that he was our age once and that he didn't really care what we did. We left to go buy more film and then we went to the 24-hour Sunshine Bowl where we proceeded to goof off even more.

We all bowled ok but I ended up being the worst at it. Some people brought their grandma to the bowling alley and she was sitting at a table by herself and fell asleep. I got a pic of Ryan behind her rocking out but the whole band wouldn't take my suggestion to sit at the table with her while she slept. It was really weird because it seemed like this lady's family had just left her there. We shot some pool and played some video games, too. Ryan headed to the bathroom so Jason, Mitchell, and I ran out to the car and took off to see if he would be freaked out when he came out and we weren't there. We went across the street to Waffle House and saw Ryan running out of Sunshine Bowl with a basketball from the jump shot game. We joked around with our waitress Mari and she said that she wouldn't have any problems posing for a picture. I got a pic of her, the band, and the cook who had a sling on and then a picture of all of them with this hooker that came out of the bathroom. If you don't believe me, the pics will be up in a few days. We ate our food and I had a good time being out of the house. Those Fang-Shooey kids sure do rock. Now, I'm going to go draw and stuff and win more E-Bay auctions. I gots me a tape with Broadways/Lawrence Arms shows coming and some Evan Dorkin books, too. Mwah! -josh-

9-21-02
(5:20am) Listening to Telegraph. Fang-Shooey was really good the other night. They recorded the show for a live CD they're going to put out. Stu and I hung out after that and ate Taco Bell and talked about our comic lives and getting older and thinking about the old days. He came over to hang out as I got together about 40 packages of comics to mail off all over the world for people to hand out the new free mini-comic. I didn't go to sleep til 6:30am and then I had to be to work by 10.

JoEllen gave me a Louis Prima record and I hugged it. I went to the post office to mail off my 300 lbs. of parcel and Erich asked me if I wanted to do the designs for the labels on his beer he's homebrewing, which will be cool. Congrats to him on winning an award for his beer. It was packed at work and I gave away a bunch of new comics. I got home after me and Stu fixed my bike chain and managed to stab ourselves in the hands with a screwdriver. I had a shard of metal in my finger, too. I look like a dirt merchant. Remember, big fat birthday/costume party for my 21st on October 12th. -josh-

9-19-02
(5:23pm) Watching The Simpsons. I'd like to thank RobG because he's going to be adding a link to the comic of the week in his weekly punk newsletter. Go here: http://uprisingpunk.com to check out his Detroit/Toledo radness. The Weekly Planet award has been bringing a huge number of new hits so welcome if this is your first time here. Coming up soon, there's going to be new ads for the Globe in the St. Petersburg Times and they'll be featuring the famed coffee cup design of mine. Thank you, JoEllen!

Fang-Shooey is playing at 9pm at the Goldstar tonight so head on over there. I'll be handing out my new comics. -josh-

9-18-02 (part 2)
(11:34pm) Listening to Telegraph. I got a Weekly Planet Best of the Bay Award! Go to http://www.weeklyplanet.com/current/bestof/visualarts.htm and scroll down a little to read a cool write-up on me and the comics. Stu and I have new comics out so let me know if you want them. Mine is a new free mini-comic with a bunch of new preview comics for the upcoming books. I'm tired. -josh-

9-18-02
(2:12am) Listening to Atom and His Package. I have a brand new secret comic coming out later today. I'm almost done with it. I spent all day working on new ideas and drawing. Stu and I just got done watching "Amelie". I noticed so much stuff I never saw before and this was the 7th or 8th time watching it. Thank you to everyone for making this site such a happening place sometimes. -josh-

9-16-02
(5:21pm) Listening to The Know How. I got another new Daily Art piece up. I'm writing crap on the message board. Join in on it. -josh-

9-15-02 (part 2)
(11:38pm) Listening to The Know How. Yay! What a show! I got to the State just in time to catch The Know How, which is a really good band out of Gainesville Cock City. I bought both their CD's. I hung out with Hannah and made fun of the screamo band Glasseater. The Suicide Machines played great and had the whole crowd feeling their energy. I handed out the few comics I took with me and this girl Maegan was so happy to find out I was me. If I ran into me, I'd shoot myself but she said she was my biggest fan. She told me some of her favorite comics and animations I did and then introduced me to Jasmine and some of her other friends. That made me happy to find out that there is still people who like the stuff that I do. A big thanks goes out to you Maegan for promoting my stuff and letting everyone else lose a few brain cells by reading anything I had a hand in creating. On a side note, I updated a few pages here and there and that includes the Daily Art. Go check it out. Thank you, as well, to those who've been buying the art stuff and comics as of late. -josh-

9-15-02
(5:26pm) Listening to the Parka Kings. I know I had a bunch to type on here but I can't remember now. I rearranged my apt. so I have a little art studio space and a little computer workspace with them both being sectioned off from each other. I'm getting more stuff done this way. I did a couple new pages and I'm going to work on some more in a bit. I'm going to see The Suicide Machines in a bit and hand out comics to the kids. I am so hungry. There's going to be a big fat birthday party for my 21st at the Globe the night of October 12th into the 13th so come on out. Stu, Skater Dan, and I are planning on having a table set up at Circus McGurkis on October 26th for anyone wanting to come out and harass us and buy some cool comic/creative crap off of us. I have new comic books lined up very soon so I hope you all buy some to give to your grandma. I sold two more paintings! -josh-

9-10-02 (part 2)
(4:12pm) Listening to Common Rider. I just bought the new Common Rider album (with guest vocals from the boys in Alkaline Trio and Lawrence Arms), a Man or Astroman? one and Social Distortion Live at the Roxy. I got some great mail today by a Tampa zinester named Andy Nukes. His stuff is really cool and I was happy to read it. He even sent me money for my god awful shit. I love getting mail. -josh-

9-10-02
(12:04am) Listening to the Parka Kings. I just finished typing up the rest of my journal. Gah! I'm still feeling a little sick but I'm taking medicine that is making me really groggy. I'm going to go to sleep early hopefully. I watched a documentary that JoEllen let me borrow today called "Almost Elvis". It's all about Elvis impersonators and it was really good. It's time to turn on my air conditioner. -josh-

9-9-02 (part 2)
(3:36pm) Listening to the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Be sure to check out the 84 pics from Michigan here. This is the complete write-up on my trip. Enjoy.

8-26-02 3:47pm Saginaw, MI
I got out of work yesterday at 3:30am and got home a little after to pack because I hadn't done it yet. I was switching off doing that and talking to people on the computer. It took me about two hours to get everything together and I went to sleep around 6am. Erin called me to tell me she was staying home from work because she was still sick. I fell asleep and woke up at 9:30 but I hit my clock an hour ahead so I was freaked out at it saying 10:30. I called Stu and he came right over. We went to Erin's so I could say goodbye. Stu and I were listening to Master P and we drove to Tampa. We got to the airport and waited in one big line so I could get my boarding pass. Stu left a little after because I had to get on the shuttle to go to my terminal. Then, the doors opened on that and there was another huge line for security. It took about a half-hour to get through that. I was gabbing to some kids while waiting. We got down to where you board the plane and I only had to wait a few minutes before we could get on. I was reading my "Krazy Kat" book and some annoying kid kept bugging me. We took off a little before 1pm and the girl next to me was really impressed with the drawings in my sketch book. My nice drawing pens almost exploded ink on me from the pressure but they did manage to get ink all over my hands and on my shirt. I drew the beginning to Chauncey #11. The trip went good except for a little turbulence coming into Detroit. It was probably all the car fumes. We got to Detroit at 3pm and my mom was there to pick me up. It took so long to find where the cars were parked because we didn't know where anything was at the old part of Detroit Metro. It took about 40 minutes to finally find the car after dragging my suitcase all the way over to it.

Mom and I went north to Saginaw on I-75. We stopped off to get some food and we stopped at a rest area so I could call everyone in FL to let them know I was up in MI. I also got some ice cream there because you all know about my love for that. We got to Saginaw and it was so dirty and gritty. We saw my uncle's truck but couldn't find where he went. We called my dad and me up with him at Tim Horton's. It was nice hanging out with my parents. My mom then dropped me off at Stu's family's house and I was surprised to see the Shorty's Three C's sign hanging up in the garage. That's the comic shop I worked at and Stu's dad said that it was mine for a Christmas present. Rusel and Lydia and I went to go buy candy. We were walking back and I was so happy to see my good pal Patrick (another of Stu's brothers) running up. Yay! Him and I took off walking to go to a 7-11 his girlfriend works at and we goofed off there and drank pop. It's good to be in Michigan where everyone calls it pop and where they say party store instead of convenience store.

We got a ride back to his house and we started watching old stuff that Pat filmed. We also watched a bunch of TV dub over stuff I did last year. We watched when it was 4th of July 1997 and Stu and I were getting big into ska and we were wearing suits and a lot of plaid. I was pimply-faced, long-haired blonde freak. We were big pyros and were setting fireworks off and acting nuts as we danced around them. We watched when Pat filmed when Brian Wood interviewed me for TV-5. Then, there was when I dressed up as Super Love Man and Patrick filmed a documentary about it. Him and I went for a drive because he had to check if a building he cleans was locked. I was doing Simpsons voices the whole way there. We got back and watched some TV after going to 7-11 and talking about how funny the word cunnilingus sounds. I went to bed at 4am. Stu's dad woke me up at 2pm and my mom came over. I rode with her to work and I took her car after that to go to Shorty's. He wasn't home so I chilled out for a bit with his daughters and wrote this and called people only to get no answer or them telling me that they had to work. It sucks getting older.

8-27-02 2:07am
I left Shorty's and went to Stu's grandma's. We had a good conversation because I hadn't seen her since I left originally to go to Florida. I left there and went to Stu's other brother Ben's house where we talked for a few minutes. I picked up some food for my mom and I and then I got her from work. She dropped me off at my dad's where I called Stu and Erin. He was at my house taking care of Slap and drawing and he said I got my check card. Erin told me she got a singing gig for a wedding which made me very proud. I was happy to talk with both of them. It's been three months for me and Erin as a couple. I wish Stu and her had come her on vacation, too. Carrie then came home finally and I hugged her because I hadn't seen her since she left St. Pete after she graduated and she rode back with me to visit. I played the Skankin' Fresh song with Erin singing so Carrie and Dad could hear her. I showed them pictures of stuff and then we all went to see if my Aunt Ann was home. She wasn't but my Great Aunt Margaret was there. My uncle's psycho dog tried to eat me while we were over. Carrie and her boyfriend Eric took off and my dad and I went to Home Depot so I could see Nick Brandt. We couldn't find him so we asked some lady. She then helped with the surprise by paging him and telling him to come inside from gathering carts. He was happy to see me and we talked a bit about Saginaw and St. Pete life. Him and I said we would hang out more later. I then headed over to Media Play where I looked at stuff forever. I bought the Calvin & Hobbes Sunday strip exhibit book, a Bart Simpson Pez dispenser, the Simpsons "Songs in the Key of Springfield" CD with a bonus puzzle, and "Plan 9 from Outer Space" on DVD.

The girl at the register was Wendy Hastings, someone I graduated with. We talked about Lou for a minute because she hangs out with him sometimes. It was a pretty nice night to be driving around and my dad and I got back to his place around 10:30pm. I put together my puzzle in an hour and watched some W.C. Fields movies. I then went upstairs to listen to my Simpsons CD and read Calvin and Hobbes. I then put in my Telegraph CD and wrote in my journal. Some of Saginaw has changed but a lot of it is still crappy and rundown. I'd love to take pictures and draw some of these old buildings. This place is a lot older than St. Petersburg but it didn't get developed as much as St. Pete did and still is. I guess it's still a quaint little midwestern community. I don't think I could ever live here again though.

8-28-02 6:49pm)
I ended up not going to sleep and I drew all sorts of stuff like normal guys and girls, a new comic, and a Skankin' Fresh logo. I didn't fall asleep until 4:30am. I woke up around 10 and my dad went and got me breakfast. I then went back to sleep and woke up around 1pm. I got ready and headed over to the library so I could check my e-mail and see my sister. The Internet was down so Dad and I went to go fishing. We went to Zilwaukee after getting some Hot n' Now (only one left in Saginaw. So sad.) but it was too windy by the big bridge so we went back to downtown Saginaw and had a really good time. I caught a really tiny catfish to start and we took a picture, then one a little bigger than that and then one even bigger than that one. Dad and I kept getting bites and then a huge fish broke the line on one of the three poles we had in. Dad's dog, Buddy kept crushing the fish's heads and jumping into the river. The Saginaw River is the dirtiest water I've ever seen and it is extremely polluted. We took off to visit my aunts and then we met up with my mom so I could take her car. I stopped by Todd Pettit's but he wasn't home so I thought I would surprise my little pal Brent.

Him and I bouht Coke slushies and went over to spend time with Rusel and Lydia and their friend Dustin. Patrick and I were goofing off on a skateboard and got the idea that we want to film a crappy skate video. As I was getting ready to take Brent home, Lou stopped by. I told him to stay there as I took Brent back. I got back and Lou and I ventured to his house for a minute. We then went to 7-11 to visit our good pal Dean Bittner. It was really good to see him. I used to hang out with Dean a lot when we were kids. Lou and I then drove out to Meijer's to browze at toys and junk. We were really fixated on Simpsons + Transformers toys. We left there to go see Dean again. We left 7-11 a little after 11pm and Lou dropped me off at my mom's car. I'm glad we got to hang out. I dorve home and went through boxes of mine that are in my old room. There was old drawings and ideas I had for the comics when I first started doing them. I was amazed at how much stuff I was able to fit in my tiny room when I lived there. I was in that place for about five years and it was sad to see my walls all bare and dirty. I laid there for awhile with the light on thinking about how happy I am in St. Pete and how sad Saginaw still is. I then conked out at about 1:30am. It was pretty chilly; in the 50's but I stayed warm.

I woke up around 1pm and my mom and I got some food from Taco Bell. I took her car around to try to find people but wasn't running into anyone. I went to Media Play to buy Erin the soundtrack tot he Broadway version of "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and then to the mall to see if Josh Price was working. He wasn't there so I went to track down and call other people. I got ahold of Emily and talked to her for a bit. I then called Melanie and we decided to meet up at the Red Eye (Saginaw's version of the Globe) because my dad and I were going there anyway. Melanie and I had a good talk and then Stu's ex, Jen, came in to bug us. I had to go and get my mom from work and then she dropped me off at the Andrews' but nobody was there so I did some computer stuff. I then realized Patrick was out back so we acted like loons and I showed him my animations. Daniel came home and then Pat and him left to go clean office buildings. I've been writing this all out and I'm hungry.

8-30-02 3:37pm
I went to sleep a little and then Stu's family came home. Rusel, Lydia, and I played video games until Dan and Pat got home from work. Pat and I got his video camera and took Rusel's bike and a skateboard over to Chester Miller with Angela where we met up with Nick and T.J. I rode on the bike and did horrible tricks and got pushed down and fell over a few tiems. Patrick and T.J. did some skateboard non-tricks and we threw some fake blood on Nick to make it look like he hurt himself. Some strange cleaning guy inside the church next to us kept staring outside. I did a "Back to the Future" homage when I kicked the skateboard under Nick's car and walked over to it by crawling on top of the car to the other side. We realized later that we did it wrong because I went from back to front and if his car was moving, I would've been run over. He then pulled me around as I stood on the board and held onto his car. The only thing missing was "The Power of Love" by Huey Lewis playing. Pat and Angela filmed some stuff on their own where it looked like he hurt himself. Pat got fake blood all over the church entrance and had filmed it to look like it was a real accident. I then found it necessary to light some of my leg hair on fire while Patrick filmed. We then heard a lot of fire engines and got pretty paranoid so we all went home. I hung out with Pat for a bit and checked my e-mail and then went in the house around 2:30am.

I tried to fall asleep but I couldn't so I listened to Lawrence Arms and played some dumb video games. I fell asleep around 5am and my mom came over around 9 to drop off some clothes she washed for me. Me, Rusel, Lydia, Daniel, and their dad got all ready to go on our trip up north to their cabin west of Tawas City. I started reading the first "Harry Potter" book and then we stopped at a Burger King north of Bay City. I entertained the kids by sticking fries in my nose and ears and eating them. I read some more and we got up to the cabin around 11am. We got the row boat into Chain Lake and we all left for awhile to go fishing. I took some pictures and had a really fun time. I caught six fish and was really amazed at how clear the water is. The weather was nice with it being totally sunny and around 80. We rowed back to the cabin and Rus, Lyd, and Dan went down to the little beach to go swimming. Paul and I took the boat out again and we caught a few more fish. It was around 5pm at this time and we went back to cook hot dogs over a fire and burn things like plastic and worms.

We left from the cabin to go to Iargo Springs, which was close by. It was so incredibly picturesque. There were stairs that went all the way down the steep forest to the springs, streams, and waterfalls. The water was ice cold and the five of us went off the path into the ancient forest. We kept slipping and sliding and getting stuck in the muck. We went really high up on this deer run to where water runs off after a storm and we ran straight down at high speeds, which was crazy. I did it a second time with Lydia and I ended up landing on my ankle and Lyd fell down and hurt herself. We went down to where the water comes out at the Au Sable River and it was so calm. We threw some change in and looked at the trees, the sand dunes, and the sky. It was perfect. I stuck my head under one of the falls and froze my ass off. I then dunked my whole head in one of the streams, which was refreshing. We then tried running all the way up to the car but it hurt to do that. Your legs will give out and you breathe really hard. I was the first to the top. We drove to Oscoda, which is on Lake Huron. We then went to Tawas City just before 9pm and got some stuff from Dairy Queen and walked around. We headed back to Saginaw after stopping at a gas station so we could buy toys and I listened to Telegraph with my headphones and fell asleep a little.

We got back to the house and Patrick wanted to film more for the skate video so I layed down in the driveway and he filmed it so it looked like he flew over me. I then did some Internet stuff and went in the house. I played video games, Lydia and I listened to "Thoroughly Modern Millie", read, and then went to bed around 2am. I had fun dreams like one about an art show dedicated to large versions of comic strips, including some of mine. I woke up at 3pm on Friday and ate cereal and spent a long time writing in my journal.

9-1-02 (8:00pm)
Later that day, I went with Paul to get a Slurpee and I hung out with Rusel and Dustin and then my mom came and got me. We went to the bar that Uncle Larry hangs out at so I could see him. He was real happy to see me and we talked for a little and then I took mom out to eat at the Texan on Bay Road. It was the first non-fast food I had on my whole vacation. We ate and went back to mom's. I took her car and drove around trying to find people but no one was to be found. I headed out to Wendy's in Shields around 10pm to see Todd Pettit. I had a Frosty and talked with him for an hour while he worked. I went home after that and organized all the stuff I wanted to still save at my mom's and I even threw some of my junk away. I stayed up for awhile after that and read "Harry Potter" and fell asleep after 3am.

I woke up just before 11 and went with Mom to work so I could take her car again. I went to Adam's and then by Shorty's and Stu's grandma's but no one was home so I drove all he way out on River Road past Old James Towne Hall and had fun driving around a bunch of corn. I went back to Wendy's to confirm bowling later that night with Todd and that was after I left a note on Adam's car telling him that I wanted to hang out. I went to Stu's grandma's and was there for over four hours just talking about Stu and his family and lots of other stuff. She let me use her phone so I could call everyone and let them know about bowling. I got Mom at 5pm and se dropped me off at Dad's. Phil drove all the way up from Sterling Heights just to see me. I love Phil. Him, my dad, and I drove out to the mall and I got another Calvin and Hobbes book and danced around at Sam's Club. He dropped us off and I took a little nap.

My dad and I left just after 11pm and we were the first ones at the bowling alley. I put on my bowling shoes and my Milk & Cheese bowling shirt. Todd showed up and then so did Pat, Angela, and her friend Amanda. Ken and Tara also stopped by with their son. We all bowled and had a great time. Tara took off and we ate pizza. We bowled ok and Pat and I acted the same, like we were twins, and threw our bowling balls at the same time when we were up. It was so much fun hanging out with my dad and my friends. I was mad that so many people I called didn't come out. Lucas Weiss called the bowling alley and wanted me to stop by his brother's house. We ate more pizza and goofed off and got done around 2am. Ken left with us and we stopped off at Josh and Bill's and Luke was there. I was there for a few minutes and saw Bill as he was coming in when we were leaving. We then dropped off Ken and I went to bed around 3:30am after reading a little.

9-1-02 (10:43pm)
I woke up and got ready to go to the 1st Annual Sullivan family reunion. Aunt Ann picked me and Dad up and Carrie and Eric followed behind. I read on the way there as we went down to Flushing. It was neat seeing people that looked like me with my big ears and people who talked like me. There were people in my family from Alaska and those I've only read mention of on the family tree. I found Jack Sullivan and thanked him for sending me historical info and the family tree. We ate and heard stories. A couple of the peole that left, second cousins of my Dad's and only lived a couple blocks away from him, got in a car accident and one of them died. Everyone was a little shocked and saddened by that. When the accident happened, a woman saw the flyer for the reunion in the wrecked car and drove out to where we are to let everyone know. It had happened about 15 minutes after my sister and her boyfriend had left. I talked with a couple people like Mike Armstrong, my third cousin who worked at one of the rival comic shops in Saginaw. We ended up being at the reunion all day. Dad, Aunt Ann, and I went out to Grandma's grave and Aunt Ann showed me the graves of my Great Grandma and Grandpa Dorner and told me more about that side of the family. We got back to Dad's and I called Erin because I missed talking with her and then I called Stu. My dad and I watched "The Hudsucker Proxy" and "Mission Hill".

9-3-02 (12:53am)
I stayed up last night until I finished reading Harry Potter. I looked at my family tree again and noticed that I really am related to my friend Max, which we discussed a long time ago when we went to school together. My mom woke me up after 1pm when she came over to my dad's. I told her my plans for the next few days after I called Stu to wish him a Happy 22nd Birthday. She left and I called Meg to wish her a happy birthday, too. I got ready and my dad and I headed out to Frankenmuth because he wanted to show me some new stuff they built out there. We went to a place that had old photographs and then to the holgram shop. There was this robot hologram I wanted but it was too expensive. We stopped at Freeway Fritz so I could get a postcard to send to JoEllen and then we went out to Bay City. Traffic going southbound on I-75 was packed with people coming back from the Labor Day Weekend. We got off the highway just before the Zilwaukee Bridge and drove a backway into Bay City. We were by Robert's house and told my dad to swing by there. Him and his wife Katrina were surprised to see me. Their daughter is getting really big. Rob took a pic of me holding her. Him and I chatted for a bit and he gave me my box I had at Cafe Cappuccino that I used to have my comic set up in that he saved for me. We opened it up and there was money, notes, and comics that people did for me. He then gave me a Wacom drawing tablet so I can draw right onto the computer. Robert is so nice.

We left there around 6:00pm and went fishing down at the Saginaw River. I caught a crazy looking fish called a Sculpin that I'd never seen before. My dad said it's not native to the river and it's only been around for 3 years because it migrated here with European fishing vessels. I guess it's become a nuisance because it eats the eggs of other fish. I caught a big catfish, too, and got milkshakes and headed back to Saginaw. We stopped at Lannyland and I bought an old Fisher-Price jester toy, some old Pez dispensers and an 8mm cartoon reel. We got back to my dad's and then the trouble began. My sister was there so I decided to tell her she should spend some time with me and dad. We were going to go rent the Harry Potter movie but she didn't want to do anything because she had other plans. Carrie then seemed to flip out and said she didn't want to be told what to do. Just as I was dialing Erin's number, out of nowhere comes my sister's fist and she punched me in the face. I held onto the phone as Carrie ran away and I grabbed her shirt as I told her she does not hit me. She then tried to ram into me so I pulled her hair and I had to get away from the hall or she and I would've fallen down the stairs. She ran in her room and started swearing at my dad and I. I found everything all pretty funny but it was kind've a shock that she hit me. Her and I used to fight all the time but Carrie has no sense of humor and even laughing around her will provoke her to get mad. I called Erin back so I could tell her what happened and because I miss her.

Dad and I took off to Hollywood Video where we ran into Stu's ex, Tina. We rented "Harry Potter", "Back to the Future 2", and the anime "Metropolis". We started watching "Harry Potter" and Carrie's friend came over with her boyfriend and mumbled something about telling Carrie to stay in her room. She has these friends that act like they know it all so Carrie acts the same way. Her boyfriend came over and they all left. She's always doing that crap where she's only around to sleep at the house and then she goes away the rest of the time. The whole time I was up there, she went up north 3 times and said about ten words to me. She did that when she visited me in FL for 2 weeks and when she lived with my mom. Carrie is very inconsiderate and I told my mom that I probably spent more time with my dad in the past week than she has in the past year or probably past ten years. My dad is older and even had a mild heart attack a couple years ago. I know that you have to spend time with people because you might not see them when you want to. I told my dad to kick her out because she's going to be 20 in March. If he doesn't, she'll be there until she's 30. I finished up watching the movie and the crazy cat, Snow, decided to bother me for awhile and then I got my clothes and stuff organized. I wrote in the journal for awhile after I wrote a little apology note to Carrie for somehow encouraging her to punch me.

9-3-02 (2:30pm)
I stayed up last night and watched some good old Midwestern lightning and then my dad woke up so we watched the first half of "BTTF 2" and then I went to bed at 5am. I woke up at 1:30pm and watched the rest of the movie and now we're going to watch "Metropolis".

9-4-02 (10:11pm)
We watched "Metropolis" and picked Carrie up from work. I wasn't mad at her and she seemed to be in a better mood. I called up Rusel at 5pm and asked him if he wanted me to spend the night and he got really excited and said yes. I hung out with Rusel and Lydia and Patrick. My mom then came over and so did Lou and Ben. Pretty soon, all the Andrews' were in the kitchen excpet Stu. Rus + Lyd played outside with Dustin and Lou and I hung out in the kitchen. We then decided we wanted to go rent some movies. The kids and I dressed up like nerds and we all headed over to Hollywood Video on Bay Rd. We wandered around looking at stuff forever. We got "Amelie" and some others. We bought some pop and went back to the house and started watching "The Cell". Patrick and Daniel got home from work so I went to go bother Pat and everyone followed. It was cool out, in the upper 40's. We watched some movie stuff we did and Lou worked on Patrick's computer. Rusel almost got beat up by me as he kept trying to hit me with a stick. We threw those little white poppers at each other and into Pat's fan to make them pop. Rus and Lyd had to be in at 1:30am so Lou said he was going to take off. Pat and I talked to him for a bit in the road. I kept running up and down the street without my shoes on and my feet were pretty cold. I said bye to Lou and Pat went back into his room. I went inside to watch "Amelie" with Rus and Paul. They liked it and we all went to bed around 4. I didn't wake up until 3pm today and that's when my mom said she was going to come and pick me up but then she called and I told her to get me at 7.

Paul taped some pictures of girls from the Victoria's Secret catalog on my suitcase so everyone can get an eyeful when I pick up my luggage, especially Stu and Erin. I played some video games with Rusel and Lydia and then we walked over to Chester Miller to play on the new playground equipment. That's where I went to elementary school so I was thinking about some of the memories I had there. We walked by the church that's next to the school and saw that the fake blood that Pat threw all over the place was still there. We walked back to their house and invented a new game called Pop Bottle Tag where we were whipping a semi-full 2 liter at each other. We played some more tag and Lydia won after busting me in the leg with the pop bottle. My mom then came and got me and I spent forever repacking my things so they would all fit in my suitcase. Anything that didn't fit, I then packed up in a box I'm mailing to myself. I tried forever to get a good piece off this crappy roll of packing tape. I jabbed myself in the hand with a pair of scissors but there wasn't too much blood. I got it all set and then I wrote in my journal. I've had a really great time and I got to see a lot of people I wanted to. I can't wait to go home, though, and see Erin and Stu and Slap and the Globe. Yee-haw! I'll be there in 21 hours!

9-5-02 (3:15pm)
I'm sitting at Detroit Metro about an hour before my plane arrives. I didn't sleep at all last night because of how excited I am to get home. This morning, I woke up around 7 and was pissed to find out I had too much to fit in my suitcase. Mom and I went to McDonald's to meet up with my dad. I had some breakfast after the slow people there took their seeet time. I said goodbye to my mom and she was crying and I was starting to, too. Dad and I went to his house for a bit so I could repack and watch the Weather Channel. I hope Tropical Storm Eduoard doesn't screw up my trip. Dad gave me a note Carrie left me saying for me to e-mail her. She went up north and she knew that I was going to come over in the morning to see her one last time. What a rotten sister. We went over to say goodbye to Rusel and Lydia and they were bummed but they might be down for Halloween. We left there to meet up with Uncle Larry and I said goodbye to Aunt Ann and Great Aunt Margaret.

We got on the highway at 11:00 and it was pretty crammed in Uncle Larry's truck. We just talked on the way there and we did the same when we got to the airport around 1pm. We wandered around and bought some stuff to drink and sat outside. I went through security at 3 with my forehead twitching for some reason. Dad was really emotional but I told him I might be up for Christmas. Uncle Larry and him took off and I walked down to where my flight is going to take off from. I'm listening to my Simpsons CD and I'm going to start reading the third "Harry Potter" book, which I just bought at a store in the airport.

Well, that's my trip. It took forever to type all that up. I hope you liked it. -josh-

9-9-02
(12:51am) Watching Space Ghost. Go here: Michigan Pics for my vacation pics. All 84 of them are now up. I'll type up the rest of the journal entries later. -josh-

p.s. Fang-Shooey rocked tonight!

9-6-02
(5:00pm) Listening to The Busdrivers. Hi kids! I'm back from my trip to Michigan. I got back last night around 8pm through the rain and thunderstorms which was a little scary. Erin and Stu gave me a nice welcome home, too. I've been cleaning today and everyone has been calling me to see if I'm not dead. -josh-

8-23-02 (part 2)
(3:05pm) Watching TV. This is a great e-mail from Brian because you know, I AM ZACK MORRIS!

Zack,
Will we be practicing for the band at your house after school ZACK ATTACK is a cool name.................

slater

Bye bye, lovers. -josh-

8-23-02
(2:58pm) Listening to the second California Ska-Quake comp. Yesterday, I bought a collection of "Krazy Kat" comics that George Herriman did back in 1927-28. It's the strip that got me started on doing comics about brick throwing (first punk one, one of the Juan comics, etc.) and it's great to be reading the first ones that were done. I'm really excited about my vacation. I bet you all are, too! I love you. -josh-

8-22-02 (part 2)
(5:27am) Listening to Fifteen. I'm wide awake. I wrote a backword for Todd Webb and now I'm working on packing stuff. Here's some fun e-mails I've gotten recently. This first one is from Phil:

"what's up Crass-roadie? Here's the meat n' potatoes. Numero fricking uno, if there's one thing I don't need it's more Chauncey news. Every day it's Chauncey this an' Chauncey that. You got me dreamin' about this fookin' pig-dog over here. This fackin' gnome-rodent, whatever. But I had a good idea. Why not a sticker with chauncey peein' on an emo kid. Yeah! Like those freakin' Calvin stickers. Ha! I'll be a junky's uncle! That's FUNNY.

Start punchin' the cieling, ska-farmer, cos' I'm runnin' this roller derby, frankenstein."

This one is from Victor:

"Hi, it's me Victor. I said i was going to mail you a picture i took of a toilet on fire, and i just got it back from my photography teacher, after three months. I guess he liked it, and told me to do more. I said i'll catch a couch on fire, and he seemed really thrilled. Oh yeah, and you weren't at Comic-Con. My friend and i searched everywhere. We even talked about your comics, and he wore a pin you gave him. Some guy kept talking to us about Fantasy comics, and we were pretty scared. So we took pictures of him. And another guy kept staring at us to buy his comics, and he was creepy too. We got a good picture of him, also. Oh yeah, so expect some stuff. Stuff is good. i like stuff"

I'm hungry (my mom would always reply to that by saying "I'm Cindy".) -josh-

8-22-02
(1:30am) Listening to TreePhort. I took a nice nap today and woke up and took Slap bikeriding with me. We went to the Globe and everyone fell in love with her. Becky gave me Simpsons stickers! I hung out with Stu and was disgusted to find out how many fucking emo shows are coming here. I still hope Plea for Peace is coming. The Suicide Machines are playing here soon. I'm slowly getting my gear out for my trip. I had to get my Lawrence Arms zip-up from Slap because she uses it as a blanket. She is so calm now that she was out away from the apt. for so long. Stu and her are going to have a blast while I'm gone. -josh-

8-21-02
(3:47pm) Listening to Orangetree. I got my plane tickets in the mail today! Yee-haw! I'm going to go eat a turkey burger. See ya later. -josh-

8-20-02 (part 2)
(9:11pm) Listening to Taking Back Sunday on the new Plea for Peace comp. Today was another wacky day in the life of Josh. I went to work and Ryan Yoho hung out for awhile as he was working on a new design for more Fang-Shooey shirts. I got to see world famous Bill Donlon, too. Happy birthday on Thursday, Bill! Stu then came by on his break and the sky opened up. It rained harder than I've ever seen it, with it looking like a bllizzard and you couldn't see an inch into it. I then got out of work and went to Daddy Kool to purchase myself the aforementioned PFP double disk compilation, the latest Warped Tour double disks, and the second installment in the Smash Your Radio! line from Jump Up! I then headed over to hang out with Skater Dan at his new place. I swear his pet snake wanted to eat me. I'm a tiny boy. I then called my mom and then my dad and let them know the haps about me being up. There's going to be a big Sullivan family reunion on the 1st, which should be odd. I've never really met any of my family. I get a t-shirt out of it, too! Sorry about the absence of any daily art. My scanners are still broken. I've been drawing though so hopefully I'll scan all those in to fill in August. I just got back from an excellent dinner that my beautiful Erin made. I think it's nap time. Get me to 25,000 hits by the end of the month, skip toast! -josh-

8-20-02
(3:46am) Listening to Short Round. Hiya, palsy! I'm still have my weird sleep patterns. I woke up at 4:30pm today and went to bed at 11:30 only to wake up just a little bit ago. Oh well. I'm flying to Detroit on Sunday as the Globe will be closed from then until Sep. 5th. That leaves you all to wreak havoc on the message board but I'll probably check in on it when I'm gone. I'm so excited to be seeing everyone up in MI.

There's a big ska/punk beach show Saturday, August 31st and it's free at Redington Shores. I don't know exactly where it is so just drive up and down on the beach (mildly running over people and things) until you see some bozos trying to skank. Thanks to everyone that has been reading the new column about me going to the flea market. I also want to thank all those people who mention my stuff in their livejournals, deadjournal, assjournals and whatever other journals that are out there. They've gotten a lot of people to look at the site that normally wouldn't give me two seconds. The reprints of Free Mini-Comic #5 are doing really well this time around. The other night, it was an odd and happy feeling to look at almost everyone in the Globe reading them. They're going fast, as well as Chauncey #10. Man, Short Round is good. Oh yeah, I bleached my hair a little. I got rid of the rest of my purple mess and now I look like a surfer gone wrong. That's it. I'll gab more later. -josh-

8-18-02
(9:49pm) Watching TV. I updated all sorts of stuff. There's a couple new pics up, new Comic of the Week, and all my latest paintings have been added. That's it. -josh-

8-16-02
(4:14am) Listening to Atom and His Package. I'm really happy because the Plea for Peace Tour is coming here in October! I get to see two of my favorite bands with it: Lawrence Arms and Common Rider. KRS-1 is performing in Tampa but I'm going to miss it when I venture northward. I want to go see The Pietasters in Detroit while I'm on vacation. I'm off to put together comics. I love you. -josh-

8-15-02
(2:24am) Listening to The Suburban Legends. I finished my new column! Here you go, slugger. Post a comment on what you think of it. I'm still on my kick of sleeping after I get out of work and then staying up all night. I'm getting so much more stuff done that way and the column was the last big thing I had to do for awhile. It rained a bunch tonight. I have a ton of new paintings so e-mail me if you want to buy one of them. They make great decoration pieces or capes for dogs. Hey, there's more new pics up as well. -josh-

8-13-02 (part 2)
(5:14pm) Listening to Telegraph. Mandy sent me the lines to the Denver, the Last Dinosaur song awhile ago, so here you go:

1, 2, 3, 4

Denver the last Dinosaur
He's my friend and a whole lot more
Denver the last Dinosaur
Shows me a world I never saw before

Everywhere we go, we don't really care
If people stop and stare at our pal Dino
From pre-history to the rock-n-roll spotlight
We found a friend who helps us make it through alright

That's
Denver the last Dinosaur
He's my friend and a whole lot more
Denver the last Dinosaur
Shows me a world I never saw before

-josh-

8-13-02
(5:03pm) Listening to Telegraph. Hi kids! I painted more and more and now I'm finally going to become rich! Yeah, right. I did some crazy ones though. Work went by fast today and then I stepped into the future and finally opened a checking account and now I'm going to get a check card. Man, that will make things easier. I'll be poorer, too. I then put air in my bike tires and bought more polyurethane and WD-40. Now, my bike is a super bike that works 800 times better than before. I'm going to gloss over my paintings and make them pretty. I got home and hung out with Tony and Howie and drank some beer with them so I'm a little buzzed right now, which provides way better typing skills than I normally have and a more relaxed Josh. Bye bye, lovers. -josh-

8-12-02
(1:34am) Listening to Cousin Oliver. I woke up today around 4:30pm to find that Slap knocked over my can of polyurethane in the kitchen. I probably should be dead from chemical fumes right now. I spent a few hours cleaning up the dried, glossy goo. I just did a couple paintings and I plan on doing some more tonight. I did a cool one of El Diablo and some odd people on a tile. I have three more backgrounds painted so I'll work on those now. My head hurts a lot. I finished a skateboarding comic for Tampa Bay Grind. It's cute and involves stick people and morons. I wish I had more interesting things to type but I don't. I have a new Comic of the Week up. -josh-

delicious

8-8-02
(11:44pm) Watching TV. I think I broke my scanner by trying to scan the Chauncey license plate. Hey, I'm dumb. I think you can't scan metal without it making things screwy. After work, I talked to my mom for awhile and then my dad for awhile. Then, I chopped off my stupid hair so it's nice and spiky again. I mixed red and blue hair dye and some black acrylic paint to come up with a really cool dark, dark purple. So far, so good. I just fell asleep and it didn't get all over my pillow. Anyway, after that I watched "Amelie" and that made me fall in love with Audrey Tautou. She's like a French Audrey Hepburn. I think I'm going back to bed. See ya. -josh-

8-7-02
(7:43pm) Watching TV. Hey, skippies! I got some fun fun mail from Kayleigh today. She made an awesome Chauncey patch. I went to work and it got so dark out and then it poured like crazy. Stu and I just made a bunch of copies. (Not So) #11 is available for sale again and I made more copies of Free Mini-Comic #5 so get some of those for your Little Lord Fauntleroy. I'm going to try to fix my scanner now and then I'll be able to put pages up from Stu's new book. -josh-

8-6-02 (part 2)
(7:01pm) Watching the Simpsons. I just got back from Best Buy with Stu and Erin. I got the Simpsons Season 2 DVD's for only $35 instead of $60. I also got Vol. 3 of the John Waters Collection with the movies "Pink Flamingos" and "Female Trouble". I found out "Pecker" was released in Vol. 1 so that's what I'm going to search for now. I also bought "Amelie" and a couple disks with 22 Chaplin shorts. Whee! Bye-bye! -josh-

8-6-02
(1:44am) Watching TV. I can't scan or put new digital pics up on my site right now because of my rotten computer but I figured I can still write dumb, useless words. I did two paintings today. One is a really nice Chauncey license plate Tracy commissioned me to do. It's all nice and shiny and he is wearing his rockin' sunglasses for Florida weather. The other one is a painting inspired entirely by the song "Hey, what time is 'Pensacola: Wings of Gold' on anyway?" by Lawrence Arms. I'm going to mail it to them along with some comics and Stu's new comic. I put polyurethane over both paintings and I'm trying to air out my damn apartment before I die. I guess I'm done with typing. I have nothing else to say. -josh-

8-4-02
(6:23pm) Listening to Nirvana (ahh...memories). Sorry I haven't updated this in a bit but my computer decided it wanted to be a big fuck-up so I've been staying off of here. It's been nice not spending a billion hours on site junk. Stu and I played Nintendo all day yesterday. I got so irritated at "A Boy and His Blob" and "BTTF 2 & 3". Fuckin' games. All of Stu's comics show up now on his page. I'll be adding the new pages from his next book sometime this week. Bye bye. -josh-

8-1-02 (part 2)
(7:04pm) Watching TV. I just added the latest Chauncey book, which was released today, to the catalog page. Buy one for you, your robot, and your grandma. -josh-

8-1-02
(4:51am) Listening to Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra. I'm chatting with Jean right now. She rocks so much and I got this in the mail from her yesterday:

I forgot to mention that I was watching one of the Amazing Stories movies and I saw the kid who played Chunk in Goonies and he was all punked-out and really mean. Someone took a can of spray paint to city hall this morning. St. Pete also got some new four-wheel parking patrol pieces of shit. They have the most annoying lights on them and I know that some rotten kids are probably going to run off with them. I slept all this evening and woke up just before midnight to work on the Globe site. I put up some pics of me wearing one of the new shirts we got in. I know I had more to type but, oh well. New daily art is up and new phone messages. Happy August, jerk faces. -josh-

7-30-02
(10:08pm) Watching the news. I just finished Chauncey #10. It's really nice looking, with me spending about 4 hours on it compared to the normal 10 minutes a Chauncey book usually takes. Stu and I drew comics Sunday morning and then Bred and I went to the flea market. I bought so much stuff and I'm writing my new Vertical Composition column about it. I got to hang out with Erin later on that day and then yesterday we saw the clouds just explode as a storm was setting itself up. I almost got caught up in it later on as sand was getting in my eye and I was sure I was going to get hit by a car. Um..thank you to everyone who's been coming to the site. I'm getting about 150 hits a day and it's very exciting. -josh-

7-28-02
(4:37am) Watching Real World with dumb cowboy John. Go check out the message board about the whole adventure Stu and I had with calling infomercial people. We called about 15 numbers! I didn't wake up til 5pm today and then I didn't do anything before I went to work. Bred and I are going to the flea market later and then my cute little Erin gets home! I'm so excited! -josh-

7-27-02 (part 2)
(5:14am) Watching the funniest infomercial: "$99 No-Brainer." It's about buying a gumball machine and making millions of dollars from selling crappy candy. You have to see this one. This is better than Ron Popeill. I just downloaded the video for "Porno and Snuff Films" by Lawrence Arms. It's so great! They make fun of Dashboard Confessional and Neil, Chris, and Bren and just being cute and funny. Go get it off of fatwreck.com. -josh-

7-27-02
(4:39am) Watching the first episode of "Northern Exposure." I saw the coolest show on TCM tonight. It chronicled the pioneers of European cinema. It made me fall in love with Max Linder. He was the one who was a mentor to Chaplin and his comedy is amazing. I'd love to see more of his stuff. I read a lot about him in the book "The Comic Mind." I slept here and there and then went to work. I was acting as loony as ever and now I'm at home watching NX with Stu. We're going to work on comic stuff. -josh-

7-26-02
(5:17pm) Listening to Cousin Oliver. My thanks goes out to Dewey who wrote a cool little thing about me in the Globe section of saintpete.info. Also, thanks to Tom Barnash for keeping my hit count up and making the guestbook the place to be. Yesterday, I slept through the Fang-Shooey show and then woke up at midnight to call Erin and wish her a happy 2 months that she's been with this schlub and that I love her. I stayed up and was a bum. I ate a bunch and didn't get any painting done. Today after work, Becky picked me up and we went to Michael's to buy art crap. They just opened a new one and it's now my favorite place! I was in heaven because of all the cool stuff they had. I bought different colored ink for my Rapidograph pens and even saw that they had some smaller sized ones in part of a new art set. I'll have to track those down individually. I bought some more junk for my paintings and then I got dropped off and now I'm typing this. Boring, huh? I love you. -josh-

7-25-02 (part 2)
(3:46am) Listening to Common Rider. I forgot to write that when Stu and I went to the Post Office that I took a bunch of AOL disks that I'm going to paint over. I kept flinging them at Stu. Those things can soar! Some lame cop kept staring at me from across the street. -josh-

7-25-02
(12:23am) Listening to Operation Ivy. I have lots to type about so let's go. First of all, Spaghett-emo's has ended up at the ultimate place: The Weezer Message Board! Click here to see what those wacky kids over there have to say about your least-favorite comics artist. Seriously, thanks to whoever posted that and added my link. I'm getting a gabillion hits from it.

The Voodoo Glow Skulls show yesterday was pretty damn entertaining. The State was as packed as I've seen it in quite some time, which was odd because the last time I saw VGS with Link 80 last year, there had to only be 50 people there. The Spitvalves opened up and they were pretty good, but not as good as they were in Gainesville a few weeks ago. The River City Rebels got arrested or something so they weren't there. Ten Foot Pole was ok but they should be called "Dime a Dozen." The whole time I'm standing around waiting for the smoke to consume me last night, I kept thinking about how cool it used to be to drive down to Detroit and be way more excited to be seeing a show. I remember how happy I'd get when I first heard a band but nowadays I can just walk right over, see a show, and walk right home. It sounds weird but the convenience of living in a city where bands actually play takes away from the excitement of a road trip and there isn't too much anticipation. Ah, screw that. I think it's really cool that I've gotten to see so many of my favorite bands play here. The lead singer of Voodoo came on wearing a luche mask, which made my face light right up. The guitarist looks like John Flansburgh from They Might Be Giants and their smoke machine made the State seem like Mt. Vesuvius had just erupted nearby. The pit was somewhat civil but you didn't find me getting near it. I hung out with Tracy and watched the bands and even ran into world-famous Skater Dan for a bit. I bought some CD's and went to the Globe. Tracy has made some more Chauncey stuff (dolls, hand puppet, patch) that we'll be selling on here very soon. I got home and was so exhausted. The smoke and my near dehydration wore me out. I went to sleep to wake up to Slap attacking the shit out of the Chauncey dolls. Everything was ok with them but I was mad. She's been acting so bad lately. I went to work and everyone was being really goddamn picky. One lady (she kept making it a point to tell me she was from Toronto) wanted me to rinse off her coffee ice cubes because she didn't like frost on them. What the hell, moron? They've been in the freezer! What do you expect to be on them, fancy rainbows? Jeez. My lovely Erin called me from Jacksonville and told me she bought me Dr. Mario for Nintendo, one of the best games ever. JoEllen had picked me up some really cool 'zines in Chicago and Stu came by from work to hang out with me. We looked at the books and got inspired to work on some stuff together. We went down the the post office and then I went home after deciding I wasn't going to go see All tonight. I got into a cleaning kick and cleaned out my cupboards in the kitchen and then fumigated my carpet against fleas. Slap then got what she deserved for being big trouble: a bath! Ha ha ha! She acted really good this time around and then found entertainment in various things afterwards. I put away papers and then went to bed. I woke up at 11:30 and realized that I wasted the rest of my night dreaming about gorillas or something. -josh-

(5:28pm) Listening to Attaboy Skip. I spent all day yesterday doing a new animation, which is up right now. It's the second installment of Chauncey's talk show. It has a long load time so be patient. I caught up on Comics of the Week and added one for last week and put the "Toe Nay Doe" one up for this week. Thanks for checking out this stuff. -josh-

(5:06am) Listening to The Anchorite Four. I had such a great day! I actually slept really good and woke up to pick up Erin from work. I also talked with my very good pal Todd Webb and I'm really happy for him because he is working on getting his comics stuff sold through Hot Topic. He rocks. Erin and I then went to the Shore Acres Rec. Center for the big fat show and I was lucky enough to catch the end of A4. I talked to Jesska for a bit and it was cool to see her and Marc and talk about Billiam Nordium. I hung out with my Fang-Shooey boys as they waited for drummer Jason to show up. I kept offering my mad skillz as a drummer to them but they rightfully ignored me. We caused trouble on a Razor scooter and played with the Chauncey doll that Tracy made (new pics on the Pics page). Ryan and I ate day old pizza and his girlfriend, Ally, and Erin secretly devised ways of taking over our souls. Mitchell ended up smacking Yoho in the nuts with the scooter on accident. I thought they actually smacked this old man who was nearby in a wheelchair. We all then set up chairs and watched Fang-Shooey play an incredible show! It was the best one I've ever see them put on and everything was great including Daniel, the awesome dancing kid and Ryan's attempt to change a broken string while still singing. They played a really good new song and I was smiling the whole time. I've seen F-S more than any other band and I'm really proud of how much they've progressed since I've first started annoying them. They got done and Erin and I went to get McDonald's. They did not give me good service, therefore, I did not honk happily for them. We then went to Publix to do Globe shopping and then we dropped that stuff off. It's been really good running The Globe and I'm glad JoEllen gets to take a vacation every now and then. I'm also glad I'm not too bad of a fuck-up when I'm running the place. Jason called me and told me he left New York City and is now in Chicago. He made me light up by telling me that he started making comics. I love that all my best friends are doing comics. I'm tired. Night, suckas. -josh-

(4:49pm) Listening to The Sellouts. I am really hungry. Hi. Another person is getting a Chauncey tattoo. Someone else is getting a dancing space boy tattoo from the first daily art. Tomorrow is Acrestock 2. Tuesday is Voodoo Glow Skulls. Um...I got a really nice letter from Joe Kletz today. I will type it out and it will seem like I wrote a lot for today:

Young Master Sullivan...

You should be proud. Why? I'll tell you. You, my dear friend are the winner of a very secret contest. Yes - that's right, you win. What contest, ya ask? Well, it's the "Be-the-first-to-send-mail-to-Joe-Kletz-in-Cincinnati-Contest." Yes, you even beat the credit card companies. You even beat the junk mail (although Josh Sullivan Comics isn't far from junk mail - just kidding).

Anywho - what a shock to find you in my mail box (by the way, there's no prize for being 1st - only the right to brag). The comic is great - in fact I'm starting to get jealous: "Dial T for Terrorist" (terrorist activities is peachy!!), "Steal from old people" - FANTABULOUS!

But, before I get jealous, you should get scared. Oh yes, my friend, I'm back. This Cincinnati living has afforded me the luxury of having nothing to do on nights & weekends (when phone rates are cheaper, according to TV ads). So - I can draw. Yeah - I've got stuff...some even written down, script-like. Check yer mailbox.

Before I scoot, I'll tell you this. It's Friday. I've been here for 6 days. Got your comic today. Guess what band I'm listening to in my stereo? Guess what band is playing a show, here, in Cincinnati, tomorrow night? LAWRENCE ARMS - "It's a playground fueled by beer."

They'll probably stay here, too...

Hey - I can't let you get away with having a better comic than me & not one-up you somehow, can I?? Love ya Buddy, may the force be with Stu! -Joe!

Wasn't that such a great letter? Joe Kletz does great comics, has great taste in music and had the coolest house in Chicago. I wish I had Lawrence Arms staying at my house. -josh-

(12:10am) Listening to Attaboy Skip. Hi hepsters! Erin gave Stu and I haircuts today and we look like a couple million bucks. Her and I then went and saw "Lilo and Stitch" which I really liked. Pay attention to the cute robot in the beginning who pukes. He is to be my new son. It was a really good movie and I was surprised for it being a Disney one. We then hung out at the Globe where I danced and talked with all sorts of yahoos. It's so hot and muggy out. Go to the Fang-Shooey, Gaslight Addition, Anchorite Four show on Saturday at Shore Acres Rec. Center. I got my ticket for Voodoo Glow Skulls next week. I'm so bad at writing things in here nowadays. I never type that much. Go to the guestbook. Some guy named Tom wants to pick a fight with you. I should go to bed. I didn't get much sleep. I only ate chicken taquitos and candy today. I'm so healthy. Peace out, Donkey Lips. I have to remember to call Todd Webb tomorrow. -josh-

7-15-02
(7:36pm) Watching The Simpsons and listening to The Bipeds. I know I had a billion things to type on here and now I can't really rememebr them. Stu and I hung out and played Nintendo and watched Adult Swim yesterday. I have the new Comic of the Week almost done and it's a new one for almost everyone. Only a couple of people have seen it. Somebody buy me the Simpsons Season 2 DVD's. It'll be so great when all the seasons get released. I'm still working on getting all the Northern Exposure episodes. I have 70 of the 110 now. I just added a couple new pictures so check those out. Sign the guestbook, you! -josh-

7-13-02
(5:28am) Watching the Weather Channel. How cool am I? I'm chatting with Mandy and I just replied to a ton of posts on the message board. Everyone should go there and post. Everyone on there is so cool. I'll write more later and then you can keep laughing at me. I'm 21 three months from today. Buy me some nachos. -josh-

7-11-02
(10:11pm) Listening to One Cool Guy. I did a new comic! I hung out with Stu all day and we drew comics and hung out like we were in Saginaw. My new strip is called "Toe Nay Doe" and it looks fine. I don't really have anything to type. I'm really tired. Thank you again to everyone who posts on the message board and makes my site a whole lot better than it should be. -josh-

7-9-02
(11:48pm) Listening to Mates of State. Whee-haw! I hung out with my beautiful girlfriend and my bestest pal today. First, Erin and I went to Star Booty and gabbed with my future husband Leeroi and then over to Daddy Kool where I bought a Mates of State CD. They sound all fun and carnival-like. We went to the post office so I could mail 'zines out and I introduced Erich to Erin. Us two blonde wonders went and got some stuff from Ben and Jerry's and ended up seeing Calyn there a little bit later. There were a couple tornados/waterspouts in south St. Pete. The sky was so awesome and the eerie calm was exhilarating. Erin got picked up and then I hung out with Stu-ee. We went to McDonald's so I could stuff my fat Irish face. We went to the Globe and threw fries at birds and when they swooped down, I kept hurling this box of Butterfingers at them. It was great fun! This lady was then going around taking pics of people and stuff in the Globe for an article that's going to be in Sunday's paper. She talked with Stu and me and we gave her our comics so maybe we'll be in there as we act like schmoes. A crazy game of Uno got started that lasted for 3 or 4 hours. I almost got beat up by this guy who was mad that I flipped off Becky but we had already agreed that we were going to talk shit and be mean to each the whole game. I left around 11 and now I'm here to typeth you some words. Boo-yeah! -josh-

7-8-02
(9:12pm) Listening to Big D and the Kids Table. Bum life is great! I've been doing nothing but watching TV, eating, and downloading music. I just got back from going out with EEEEEEE-rin to dinner and I drew today's Daily Art on the big fat paper that was on the table. A couple new phone messages will greet you today and I even added a new Comic of the Week. Thanks for supporting this junk. Love, josh!

7-7-02
(3:37am) Listening to Slapstick. Everything is working on the site again! Thanks, ChrisJ! I'm all sweaty, scruffly, itchy and gross. Let's catch you shrubs up on what's been happening. Friday I hung out with Stu and Jen and we threw grapes at each other in the road and Jen gave a random wandering emo girl some strawberries. Then, I did the Spaghett-emo's pic which has gotten a really good response and has been showing up on other places besides my site. I went to work and it was nice and dandy. I was just going to go home and go to bed but then my pals wanted something to do so I invited them over to Casa del Josh. Me, Stu, Jen, Bred, Joe, Amber, and Eileen had a little slumber party and watched an endless amount of Invader Zim. We all kept dozing off but all managed to stay awake and laugh at lots of Zimmy doomyness. Somewhere in there, Stu and I finished off our bottle of rum from long ago and my tiny stomach felt all nice and warm and content. Jen took off before everyone fell asleep and then when they did conk out, I turned off the TV and kept having to chase Slap away from everyone because she was showing off and causing trouble. I fell into the land of nod around 8am and then everyone took off around 10:30am. Stu and I hung out outside for a bit and then he went home to go eat. I did computer stuff and got tired a couple hours later. I kept trying to sleep but I didn't do a good job at it. Hung out with Erin for a bit but I don't even really remember it because I was so unbelievably groggy. Stu got me and we went to Breast Buy and I stocked up on blank tapes for my quest to record all the episodes of Northern Exposure (I have 63 of the 110 right now) and then I bought me a new toy: a CD burner. I got back home and was pissed at how much trouble it was to hook up. I took a chance at seeing if I hooked it up right and I did! I made some really cool CD's and was all merry. Stu and I watched VH1 like 40-year-olds and I drank lots and lots of pop. We also stood outside and watched this really crazy looking spider that looked like it had a human skull painted on it's body. Whee! I found out my pal Jesska is coming up to St. Pete next week. She's one of my future wives that had the imaginary kid I fathered. He left and I went to work. It was so zany and fun there tonight! I was wired all up and my friend Heather came and brought her entourage with her. She's another one of my future wives. She called me silly and I couldn't agree with her more. Anywho, the message board and gbook are back. Get to posting. -josh-

7-5-02
(4:45pm) Sitting in silence. I have Stu's comic page up here. Go look at Eureka Web Services now because it's up and running and you can set up a Web-site. More later. -josh-

7-5-02
(11:22am) Listening to the air conditioner. I'm looking through my old Daily Words (links located at the bottom of this page) and I was such a schmoe. I typed the lamest stuff on there. I can't believe anyone ever reads this junk. It's less entertaining than the lamest Livejournal.

Instead of going to sleep early last night, I watched "Menace to Society" and some NX before passing out. Slap was laying on my stomach and it was so neat to feel her body twitching as she was dreaming about killing me.

I don't know what to do today. I don't have to work until tonight so I have the whole day to goof off. I was going to go back to sleep but I'm not that tired anymore. I feel really good about taking a break from the comics again. They really stress me out too much sometimes and it'll be nice to do some new paintings or watch Buster Keaton movies or not try to get something accomplished everyday. I'm going to start reading more like I used to do when I was younger. I'm going to teach myself more things and then become a super-hero.

It's nice and sunny and I'm going to wander around in my underwear. -josh-

7-4-02
(10:46pm) Listening to Against Me! Happy 4th of Josh-eye, kids! I hung out with Stu last night til around 3am as we looked for fun images of midgets and carnies. I went to sleep only to be woken up numerous times by my Satanic cat. I woke up at 9:30am to get ready to hang out with Erin's family and then I went back to sleep. She called and then I went back to sleep. They came and got me and we went to her grandma's where I had fun acting like a crazy in the pool with Erin's little cousin Adam. Him and his sister Claire rock! Adam tagged along with me the whole day. I finally got to meet Erin's sister who is back from school. We ate really good food and then I got hooked on watching Harry Potter. I enjoyed that movie a lot. I fell asleep a few times during it but that's because I have a bad sleep schedule. We ate ice cream and then went down to Jungle Prada to watch fireworks and light some off, too. I was, for the first time, freaked out by people lighting them off around me because there were so many morons around not doing a good job at controlling where they would go. I got hit a few times by stray firecrackers. It was so cool to see the cities' fireworks from where we were. I mean "cities" because you could see 4 or 5 different beach communities' shows. It was nice hanging out with everyone. I think they love me now. -josh-

7-3-02
(11:23pm) Listening to Against Me! I have such a horrible headache. Erin and I put together Dirty Josh Chronicles #7. Stu made more of his first book, this time with copies of his first hate mail letter! Whee-haw! Fuck this, fuck that. -josh-

6-30-02 (part 2)
(11:54pm) Listening to The Strike. It's almost July! Enjoy the new art and messages I just added. love, josh!

6-30-02
(5:10pm) Listening to Reel Big Fish. Hey there! I haven't typed anything on this lovely page in a few days so here's to catch you all up on the exhilarating life of a comic book artist (Bwa ha ha!):

Wednesday was real amazing and nice. Erin and I ate Chinese food and spent the whole day being goony as we spent one month as a couple. Stu also made a comic book that is the funniest thing I've ever read. I'll be scanning some of the strips and putting them up on here very soon. Dirty Josh Chronicles #7 will be out Wednesday and the 4th of July is the one year anniversary of Chauncey #1 so when you're looking at fireworks, imagine someday a big Chauncey light show as he becomes more popular than POGS.

Erin left with her mom to get her sister who was in Alabama. Jen and I hung out and she showed me her new house, which I'd like to turn into a giant JoshComics studio. She made us dinner and I goofed off on the computer because I hadn't been on mine in awhile. I unplugged all the electrical wires to rearrange everything in my apartment. Jen's cooking was great and then we watched lightning for a bit outside her house before realizing that we were probably going to get electrocuted. Walgreen's was next for us and we proceeded to yell at each other like we were rednecks and then we went to the beach to watch as this huge storm that had converged over Tampa Bay moved into the Gulf of Mexico. I was so awestruck at seeing lightning over the water and having me and Jenfer be the only ones on the beach. It felt like we were stranded on an island as the whole world was coming to an end. The fear of getting struck by lightning added to the excitement of seeing storms like this for the first time. It is definitely something I have to do more of. Afterwards, she took me back to my apt. and helped me move some furniture. World famous Todd Webb called and we gabbed about everything for awhile. Then, I worked more on getting my abode back in order and went to sleep.

After work on Friday, Skater Dan and I helped move stuff into his girlfriend Pam's new apartment. I didn't go home the whole day and I had fallen asleep on her floor and drooled all over. I woke up to more storms after having more wacky dreams. I went to work in a fun mood even after I didn't really eat anything all day and didn't get enough sleep. I got home and chatted with Mandy for awhile on the computer and then went to sleep after watching TV.

Stu came over around 11 in the morning so we could go be adventurous for comic ideas. It's so cool that he's doing comics now because now we can work on similar things when we hang out. We didn't know where we were going to go so we headed out onto Treasure Island and St. Pete Beach. I ate some 7-11 nachos for breakfast and they made me queasy. We walked on the beach and noticed more ugly people than cute people (I did a comic about it for the 'zine). It was a nice relaxing time and it felt like we were in a whole different world being just on the other side of the county. I got sunburnt a little and we went to McDonald's for more junkfood delight. I have yet to eat anything from my fridge since Wednesday since I haven't really been home too much. We went to Record Exchange and I bought the new Reel Big Fish album and a Jawbreaker CD. We got back to my place and Stu-ee fell asleep on the floor. I did my comic about the day and then I conked out just as another really cool storm was headed for us. I woke up just before I had to go to work.

This morning I woke up early so I could go down to Erin's work and see her and get some breakfast. I was so excited to see her since I hadn't in 3 or 4 days. I got back home and then I left with Phil to help him move some stuff into his new place. He let me borrow some CD's and now I am all caught up. Thanks for reading about my life. -josh-

6-26-02
(3:32pm) Listening to Common Rider. What should the homepage picture be? Go tell me on the message board. I added some more hilarious Aaron Mutha Fuckin' Buss phone messages. Today is one month for me and Erin! Whee! DJC#7 has been pushed back to a next Wednesday release. Eeeeee! -josh-

6-24-02
(2:57pm) Listening to The Busdrivers. I had sooooooo much fun hanging out with the Fang-Shooey boys and the St. Pete kids as we trekked up to Gainesville yesterday! Ryan came and got me around 11am just as I was cooking some stuff on the George Foreman Grill. We left in his pimp van and then I was worried that I left the grill plugged in so he took me back to check and it wasn't. We had some time to kill before we met everyone at noon so we went to his house and then to Goodwill. I bought some bad ass stuff like a NKOTB video, the first Ninja Turtles movie, an original Ghostbusters (the one with the Gorilla on the team) tape, and my newest robot son, 27 Cents. He cost that much so that's what I named him. He is chilling out with my other robo-son, Future Trucker, right now. We went to the Shell station and met up with the eight others who were going with us. I bought some food inside and kept dancing around declaring that I had green juice. Mitchell and Jason, the other Fang-Shooey boys, piled into Ryan's van and the four of us took off to cause mayhem on the highway. There were 3 people in one car and 3 people in another car that followed behind us.

Mitchell and I were putting labels on burned CD's that they were going to sell at the show. It was quite a task considering we were in the back of the van with no seatbelts and with Yoho's crazy driving. We only managed to fuck up one CD, which was a surprise. I started drawing our adventure out because I want to make a comic of the whole trip. Mitchy B. and I kept screaming things up to Ryan and Jason. Mitchell found a knife and looked like Rambo for a bit. I ate King Vitaman cereal and drew more and more as we all laughed and sped along to G-ville. The windows were down in the van but Jason told them to put them up so we could have the a/c on. He kept asking if we felt it in the back. He had turned on the heat and we all had to see how long we could handle it being on full blast. As the four of us were getting nauseous and ready to commit genocide, we opened the windows and it felt like the best air ever. It started raining and a piece of rubber on the bottom part of Ryan's windshield kept getting in the way of the windshield wipers, which provided more fun for us. We had been listening to TreePhort and some rap and then Ryan put in Ween and there was this really annoying song that just kept reciting the line: "Push the little daisies and make them come up." Mitchell and I made it into a death metal song and for five minutes straight we kept screaming it and I nearly pissed my pants because I was laughing so hard. I started reading the Jill Thompson interview in the new Comics Journal and it started raining harder. We then pulled off in Coleman so the gang could pick up a P.A. for the show at this skydiving place owned by a friend of Ryan's. We went inside and watched some skydiving videos and didn't get a P.A. anyway. It gave us all a nice bathroom break, though. I proceeded to throw King Vitaman cereal at Danielle's car and I smacked my hand on Ryan's ladder on the back of his van as I kept trying to get better shots out the window. We wandered about Sumter County and I noticed how unbelievably hick everything was. Yee-haw for Florida! The three vehicles got back on I-75 and then we went to a McDonald's just outside of Ocala soon after. It was the scuzziest McD's ever but we all ate there anyway. We put some duct tape on the van for good measure at this point and to fasten down that wretched piece of rubber that had been attacking the wipers. They had all these quaint street signs hanging up above the tables like "Ass-shit Alley" or something but Ryan said we were eating at Salmonella Central. I was eating so much. Yay me!

Not too long until we got to Gainesville and we wanted to up the hijinx. Mitchy and I kept thinking that Danielle, Babs, and Kricy could see us out the back window through a little square part that had the tint scraped off. So, I decided to drop my drawers and show off my tiny hairy ass. They, of course, couldn't see and in the process I had rubbed my ass on part of Jason's drums. The look on his face was priceless. He looked like he was going to faint. I carefully wiped off the tiny part of the drums that my cheeks had graced. Gainesville has so many confusing roads but thankfully the Purple Porpoise, where the show was going to be, wasn't too hard to find. We had gotten there pretty early; about 4:30. I was really happy to see Jen had showed up because we didn't think she was going to come. She left later than us and got there way before us because we're really slow. We brought in the equipment and I hopped around being goofy. Jen and I walked to Krispy Kreme and ate donuts. I gabbed about how I hate making the comics sometimes and that I don't know what I want in life every once in awhile. I got sugary goodness in me and I was all better.

You know the song "Gainesville Rock City" by Less than Jake? It should be called "Gainesville Cock City" because pretty much everyone there was so unfriendly. They were all stuck up little snob ska/emo/goth kids who mooch off their parents and have no sense of humor. There was a sound check and the place was really cool to have a show but the feedback problems throughout the night were just horrendous. Three more St. Pete kids showed up and we were all hanging out and having a merry time. Fang-Shooey started playing and we were laughing and smiling while the Gainesville jerks sat and looked too emo to even bat an eyelash. The night progressed and my wanting to get back to the 'Burg grew and grew. F-S was amazing. They played really good and even came up with a wacky dance routine towards the end. Jen took off because she had to work in the morning and we mulled around until this emo band called Lita Grey played. They were ok but it sounded like the 12,000 other emo bands paying us a visit these days. Ryan drank more and more and got nuttier and nuttier. The Spitvalves then took the stage and totally impressed me. I had always thought that played slow tempo ska but these guys rocked out with some hardcore ska and some amazing horns. They have a new CD out in a couple weeks so go buy it. The Busdrivers had three new members out fo the seven so they weren't as good as they were when I saw them back in August but they still got me to smile. I ended up buying a couple demos off of them, which has a great new song on it.

The show ended just before 11pm and they kicked everyone out. John and Michelle left to go back home and the rest of us went to Denny's to partake in more food. I noticed more stuck-up Gainesville kids and I was pretty vocal about it. Ryan wanted to see if we could get kicked out but I got pissed at him for a second and told him I was hungry and I wanted to stay and eat. I told our waitress that no one smiles in her city and that made her smile. I scarfed down a chicken sandwich while we were introduced to Kricy's friend Logan, who seemed to be the only person in town who laughed at things. We finished up and Mitchell, Jason, Julie, and me were in the van and Ryan, Kricy, and Babs were in Danielle's car. Us hepsters listened to The Living End and lost the other car right away. They sped off in a huff. Mitchell drove so fast. We left Gainesville around 12:30am and got back to St. Pete at 3:00. We had listened to cartoon theme songs and had a good trip back. Everyone met up right around the same time and we disbanded from our little one day summer camp we all experienced. It really was a great time! Babs took me home and I was so tired I kept babbling about the insanity that had insued earlier. I got in my apt. and I was so happy to see my little kittie. I called Erin because I had missed her so much and the two of us hadn't hung out in a few days and then I watched "Our Hero" and went to bed. Her and Calyn came over for a bit today and we harassed Slap and then I started typing this. Whee-hoo! It's long. I can't wait til I do the comic about this adventure. Bye-bye. Go to the message board. -josh-

p.s. Thank you, Fang-Shooey!

6-22-02
(5:53pm) Happy Birthday Phil! Listening to The Hippos. Combine Weezer and The Hippos and you get a ska/emo band named The Weepo's. Boo hoo hoo! I just ate a ton of frozen breakfast snacks. I stayed up all night after I got out of work and watched the Nick Toons All-Nighter thing on Nickelodeon. Invader Zim was on from 4-5am.

If anyone wants to set up a web-site for real cheap and get other things like domains and all that good stuff, e-mail ChrisJ and he'll give you a really good deal. So, get off of Geocities or Angelfire and finally get something without ads.

I'll be adding all the pics from the TreePhort/Rude Squad show in a bit. TreePhort was so fun. Everyone was dressed up as someone else (Ghostbuster, Giant Lobster, etc.) and there was firebreathing and sun block tasting. Us near the front of the stage kept getting lighter fluid spit on us but thankfully I had my plastic checkered ska cape to protect me and Erin. I just realized I'm wearing my Garbage Pail Kids shirt today. I've gone 5 days now without any pop or caffeine. The first two days gave me such bad headaches but now I'm doing good. I sold more Daily Art pieces. Come on, everyone, buy them all! I sold more comics last night at work, too! Whee! It feels good to sell the damn things. Man, I'm pretty boring because I don't have anything else to type. -josh-

6-19-02
(10:12pm) On the phone with my beautiful girlfriend. We watched "The Others" last night and I kept nodding off like a goon. I've been exhausted lately as I try to get on a good sleep schedule. I'm on day #2 of no pop. The daily art for today is something I got commissioned for. It's bigger than the scanner could scan but it turned out nice. I took Slap bikeriding earlier down to the Bay and we walked around on the sand and I saw a flamingo for the first time. I sat on a bench and watched as the sea breeze from the Atlantic collided with the sea breeze of the Gulf. It was really cool to see the clouds just sort've explode. We didn't get any bad weather, though. I came home and watched "Ed" and drew. I have a headache. Go to the message board...NOW! -josh-

6-18-02 (part 2)
(4:33pm) Listening to Green Day and eating King Vitaman cereal. I just sold two more Daily Art pieces! The Leonardo art is available again because the person I was saving it for never got back to me. After I wrote today's earlier entry, I went to sleep and woke up to us having a tornado warning. It was kinda cool with all the rain and everything. JoEllen was so nice and picked me to take me to work. I bought some CD's at Daddy Kool including the Smoking Popes live album. Whee! I'm going to go draw and read the new Comics Journal. Go look at Todd Webb's site: www.toddbot.com. He's been doing awesome daily comic journal pieces. Him and I are going to take over the world...after we buy some more toys and comics. Bye-bye. -hsoj-

6-18-02
(7:15am) Watching "Saved by the Bell" and "Hamtaro", the crazy anime show on Cartoon Network with hamsters smoking crack and drinking. Speaking of drinking, the "SBTB" episode on right now is when the gang drinks a tiny amount of alcohol and gets totally fucked up. Zack Morris drives Lisa Turtle's mom's car and wrecks it. They all have really bad hangovers the next morning and you get to see Zack's giant cell phone more than once this episode, which is always a treat.

It's been storming for awhile now. It's refreshing and is nice to type to. It didn't rain too much yesterday and I didn't do anything but watch TV. I saw that some wacky Australians were successful in teleporting data. It won't be too long until they can teleport me to a thunderstorm. Whee!

On Thursday, Rude Squad and TreePhort are playing at the State Theatre. I get to go on stage and introduce RS in my hick Aquabatman outfit! Yay! Gah, I better get off the computer before I get shocked by lightning. Mwah! -josh-

p.s. Zack just had to give his cell phone to a nerd. Poor preppy. He had that phone since junior high.

6-16-02
(11:16pm) Watching CNN. I just got done with a couple comics for Not Interesting Magazine. Another Sunday without Stu working on the damn mag. I have 2 pages complete of twenty for the whole book and I don't think Stu has any done. I've been downloading the driver for the printer all damn day because it won't work with Windows XP. I gave Slap a bath and she didn't like that very much.

Not too long ago, Tony and I saw some guys running down the alleys and streets after trying to break into cars. One of my neighbors chased after them with a bat in his underwear and barefoot. I saw one of the guys and I told Tony to shine his flashlight on him. The cops have been driving up and down looking around. They said there were 15 break-ins in the area last night.

It's still so hot and nauseating. The heat index didn't get below 85 degrees last night. We're supposed to get a lot of rain tomorrow and Tuesday so I can't wait. It'll be nice to read or draw while it's raining and just relax. I've been working really hard on things lately. Anywho, I'm going away to fight some leprechauns. love, josh!

6-14-02 (part 2)
(9:34pm) Watching Invader Zim. There's some new Daily Art up. Adios! I'm off to work. -josh-

6-14-02
(12:31am) Listening to Leftover Crack and eating cheesecake. So, I gots this new comic out and you should buy it. It's only one dollar and all proceeds go to me and probably Erin's little brother Joe, who has become a little JoshComics salesman. We made 200 copies of the book (#105 in the JC library) yesterday and ate pizza and put them together at the Globe. Today, I slept like a moron and she brought me enchiladas. I hope I get so fat, my chunky fingers won't be able to type Daily Words. I'm working on mailing a bunch of comics out to my gang in Brandon and those lovely ladies in California.

I got the comic by Jeff Gill in the mail for Dirty Josh Chronicles #7, which comes out June 26th. It's a good comic and you'll all be very impressed. I'm off to go knit an emo sweater or chuck rocks at my head. -josh-

6-11-02 (part 2)
(10:51pm) Sitting in silence. I got to 20,000 hits! Here's a screen shot of the special occasion. Me and Erin and her friends went out to eat and caused mayhem around St. Pete. We got free cookies from Craig and I gave a guy a dollar who was playing his sax on the street corner. We need more of that downtown. I'm almost done with my new comic. It should be out tomorrow. Please support this mess by getting one for a dollar.

Go get the new They Might Be Giants album, "No!". It's so good and it's even cooler when you play it in your computer with all these great animations that pop up. Blee! Me be happy! love, josh!

6-11-02
(5:44am) Listening to The Broadways. Stu called me earlier tonight telling me that my sister and her boyfriend are mad at me because they think I don't like him. I'm really happy I'm 1300 miles away from my family sometimes. I just woke up not too long ago and read Alk3 lyrics. I'm really wide awake so I'm going to stay up and draw some cahmicks pages. I'm glad some of you dug the daily art from yeterday. It's for a 'zine that Aaron Nelson is doing. Hopefully, I get to use it for my new book that I still want to have out by tomorrow (8 pages down, 8 to go...I don't know if that's going to happen). My head is itchy and I'm just wearing a blanket. I love it when the sun isn't even up yet. I feel like I own the world at this time of day. -josh-

6-10-02
(6:11pm) Listening to Baker Act. It's been three years since I graduated! Yee-haw! It's also been 2 and half years since I escaped the hell known as Saginaw. I thought a story would be in order to make you keep from dying after reading my lame words.

A long time ago, a Martian named Randall Stiltskin and a leopard named Leopold decided to open a restaurant together. They wanted to serve delectable cuisine such as Fish Boris-Seamus (a treat in Ireland) and Ponchotrain Skip Toast. They worked really hard to get the place up and running and on October 9th, 2056, they had their grand opening. A bunch of unruly sea scourge became the first customers. They wanted ketchup placed on their pirate sandwiches and demanded that the jukebox only play Wham! songs. After they left, an old woman and her husband, Neil-o Nazi Larry entered to eat potatoes and swig some rum. Randall and Leopold figured that they were having a great day when they opened their cash register to have $4,000, a newborn baby, and a snack cake left by a blind man. THE END!

Nope, just kidding. The next day, Randall Stiltskin threw out the idea of letting strippers dance in the middle of the restaurant during "Kids Hour", a fun time from 4-5pm every weekday where a clown named Skuzzles would make balloon animals and dry martinis for the kids. Leopold loved the idea and so did everyone else. Soon, their restaurant was the hit of the nation.

Epilogue: Randall died when a boat ate him 8 years later. Leopold went on to become President of the Crouton Club in Des Moines, Iowa. The restaurant got turned into a meat waxing plant.

6-9-02
(5:23pm) Listening to Honor System. Hi kids! Check out all the cool new pics I added today, including a pic of the Chauncey tattoo that Joe has! Billy, Laura, and Eric came down from Orlando to go see Harland Williams. The four of us and Erin hung out yesterday and I laughed so much and was glad I wasn't working on comics or sleeping. We went out to eat and then to Daddy Kool and Star Booty. I took them to The Globe and then we went back to my place and played video games. They took off to Ybor for Harland and I went to work. Erin hung out there, which was nice. I was the boss for the night and things went really good. I met some cool new people and introduced them to my craziness and they said that I was an alright dude. Brian had sent me some poems in the mail and I cut my finger open on the envelope like a moron. I didn't know I cut it and blood was going all over. Ok, more later, pizza heads. -josh-

6-7-02
(2:10am) Listening to The Impossibles. WHAT AN AMAZING NIGHT! The Fang-Shooey/Rude Squad show was phenomenal! I was blown away at how good Fang-Shooey has gotten since I last saw them and RS is great as always. Erin ended up going and it was so great hanging out with her. I had so much fun watching some of my favorite bands with her and laughing and being merry. She makes me a very happy person. Everyone really likes her and they said we make a cute couple. It was really nice being around Jen and my other friends at the show and after at The Globe. I stayed and watched Billarabi play and they rocked, too! I wish I was better with words but the way I feel makes me not care. I'm so happy! MWAH! Blee! -josh-

p.s. For anyone who checks out the site regularly, I added a new Daily Art earlier today and a new Phone Message. And, I got my 109th person to join the e-group today. Buck-o-nine!

6-5-02 (part 2)
(11:01pm) Listening to Arcade Inferno (go see them play outside Star Booty before the Melvins show on Sunday!). So, I didn't go swing dancing tonight because I fell asleep and not even Erin banging on my door could wake me up. I needed it, though, because when I woke up about 3 hours after I should've I felt amazing. I'm going to try to get some of my comic work done right now. I just read some of Burn Brandon #10, which I got in the mail today. It's great because Bob Suren made a nice comp CD of a history of punk. Our own joshcomics.com message board hepcat Cameron has a comic in there, too. It's good! I have three strips that made it in. Thanks, Bob!

I bought a comp today with a ton of bands on it and I hope I'm not turning emo. There's a Rainier Maria song on it that I like and I shouldn't. When Lauren and I went to see them, I complained the whole time and remarked on how much I hated them. Ahh! Need...ska...NOW! Ha ha ha. I'm a loser. Little Slap is annoying. I love cheesecake. I'm excited about Bill and Laura being here this weekend. Hmm...what else? I bought Erin a Coquettish CD because I saw it and I figured she could sing along to some Japanese ska.

Be sure to go to the Fang-Shooey and Rude Squad show tomorrow at the State! -josh-

6-5-02
(12:08am) Listening to The Skolars/Telegraph. I'm in such a good mood that it makes me want to dance (I'm going dancing tomorrow with me hopefully not breaking anything). Erin and I had a nice dinner and then we watched "Thoroughly Modern Millie". We hung out at the Globe for a bit and it was really hot out. What the hell am I talking about? It's always hot out in St. Pete. My daily art for the day is a pic of Erin I drew when we were at Atlanta Bread Company. I'm hungry. I'm a pig but at least I'm happy! love, josh!

6-4-02
(12:26am) Listening to The Suicide Machines. I've been trying to get my new mailing list to work but I don't know what's wrong with it. It's good to be listening to "Destruction by Definition" right now. It was my first punk/ska CD and it's making me remember all the good times I've had while listening to it: Sitting in my dad's car blaring it in my ears or when Ken, Ben, Stu and I were getting lost in Bay County in a snowstorm. AHHHHH!!!! I miss being younger. I ate a bunch of fruit tonight when I was on the phone with the ever-adorable Erin. I just got the new e-group message! I want to puke up ice cream now for some reason. That would make for some great photos. I can't wait til later when Erin and I throw rocks at people, places, and things! -josh-

6-3-02 (part 2)
(2:09pm) Listening to The Ataris. I'm in a lot better mood. I don't know what the hell is wrong with me getting pissed off at little things here and there lately. I need to make it big with the comics and move away somewhere else for awhile. I'm missing Saginaw because I haven't been up there in such a long time. This goddamn heat is driving me nuts. Air-conditioned cooled air is making me go insane sometimes I think. I need to hole myself up in a cave with just paper and pens to escape modern technology and get more work done. Arrghh! Fuckin' mosquito bites! Slap kept waking me up by nudging me over and over. I don't think she wanted anything. She just wanted to see if I was dead or not. I'm going away from the computer again for the rest of the day. Love, josh!

6-3-02
(12:35am) Watching the Space Ghost with Harland Williams and Mike Judge on it! I'm not supposed to be on the computer because I went 36 hours without even turning it on but I wanted to take a break from writing. My hand was hurting real bad, too. I thought I'd have a bunch of mail but Jeff clogged up my fuckin' inbox with big comic files early in the day even though I specified that people who want to do stuff for DJC then send it to the P.O. Box. So, that put me in a piss ass mood. Ahhh, I'm really mad. I think I need sleep. I didn't have too much because of brunch today and Stu and I were supposed to work on NIM but he fucked off and I just got done with rewriting one page. We did go to Publix and cause trouble and I bought the latest Weekly World News. The Taste of Pinellas was going on and Jen, Erin, and I were down by there to gawk at carnival folk. Slap is really driving me nuts. Fuck everyone. SG:CTC loves me. -josh-

p.s. The "Lou" comic never got put on Comic World News. That pisses me off, too.

6-1-02
(5:01am) Listening to The Broadways. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY!!!! DJC #6 went really fast tonight and got a good response. I'm glad people like it. I finally added a fourth page of Daily Words archives. The third one was huge! Check out Comic World News for the comic "Cliff makes himself at home". It's going to be a part of my new books coming up. I have nothing interesting to say except Happy June! love, josh!

5-31-02 (part 2)
(6:16pm) Listening to Lawrence Arms. Here is me trapped in a bowl of peas:

Balls!

That's one of four pics I got in the mail from my sister today. They made me so happy and makes me wish childhood wasn't so far away from me now.

Chauncey #9 and Dirty Josh Chronicles #6 are both out! Order them today and get more useless crap to hang on your walls. See you tonight at The Globe! It's Prince Night! -josh-

5-31-02
(12:05am) Listening to Lawrence Arms. Thanks to the two or three people who wished me a happy two years on this site. I'm glad some people still like what I'm doing. I spent a wonderful evening with Erin as we watched "The Sixth Sense", "Scary Movie" (remember when it was the whole gang who went out and saw it when I visited Trashinaw, Phil?) and some lightning. So, so, so nice. I needed rest and relaxation. Alli and Calyn left me candy, too, after the three of them had to leave. Brent called and I chatted with my favorite little trash-talking buddy for a bit. I actually got half of the pages put together for Dirty Josh Chronicles #6. I'm trying to recruit people to work on some pages for it or future issues. Man, I love candy! Erin bought me pop, too, which has to be the best thing ever! I ran out about a week ago I think. I'm off to run around at high speeds until I blow up. Mwah! -josh-

5-30-02
(2:05am) Listening to Animal Chin. Happy 2 Years to the site! I want to thank all the wonderful people who continue to support me and the comics by coming here time and time again and an extra special thanks goes out to my lovers on the message board. I hope you like the new homepage pic. I couldn't think of anything cool to make for it. I finished Chauncey #9 tonight after I got back from a little lightning watching. I slept all day so I'll probably be up all night working on the latest issue of Dirty Josh Chronicles. -josh-

HIPPO!!!

5-28-02 (part 2)
(10:47pm) Listening to The Eels' "Souljacker". I just got back from hanging out with my most favorite Erin in the whole world and we went and saw Star Wars 2 and ate some stuff from Chili's. I drew my new Daily Art on a napkin there. SW2 was confusing and lame at a lot of points. I'm glad I didn't go there expecting much. I got back home and Stephanie was back from Indiana so I took Sid downstairs to her and she was really happy to see him. Slap is sad that he isn't here for them to fight. Steph got me a cute and comfortable hippo hat (see above pic) and a shirt from her hometown. I still want a Mr. Yuck shirt from Saginaw. I'm off to wander around. Yee-haw! I'm really happy! -josh-
p.s. The new CD by the band The Ghost is really good.

5-28-02
(7:02am) Watching "Saved by the Bell". I slept all night. I got off the phone with Erin, Stu came upstairs from outside and mumbled something about letting me sleep, and I passed out into Dreamville. That was at 8:30 last night and I just woke up at 6:30am because of the cats trashing the new comic pages I'm working on and then fighting on top of them. Yes! The SBTB episode is when the fuckin' punks are trying to get to a U2 concert. Read some SBTB fun on the message board.

I've been getting a lot of annoying calls on my answering machine. If you're trying to be funny to get messages posted on the site, it's not working. I'm just getting irritated and I delete them. I might take down the phone messages page anyway. I'm off. -josh-

5-27-02 (part 2)
(3:28pm) Sitting in silence. I just finished the two flyers I needed to do for Heavy Metal/Punk Rock Karaoke. There are scans of them up in the Catalog page under Flyers. I've been up since 7 because I went to sleep early and I'm in such a happy mood. I'm going to try to get some comic work done and just relax. Congrats to Phil for making it to 250 posts on the message board. I'm so far behind. -josh- p.s. New Daily Art is up.

5-27-02
(12:02am) Watching "Mission Hill". I took the whole day off and watched ZIM and Buster Keaton movies with Erin. Bleeeee! It was so nice. I act more like Buster than I realized. I love cereal. Be back, later! -josh-

5-26-02 (part 2)
(3:16pm) Listening to They Might Be Giants' "Lincoln". I had to dig my tapes out. I'm also sitting here in my underwear eating cereal. What else is new?

Which They Might Be Giants album are you?

I woke up and watched "Invader Zim" and now I am doing nothing once again. Thanks to the all the people who've looked at the VertComp column so far. I've gotten 75 hits in a little over two days already. I'm going to go fly around now. -josh-

5-26-02
(4:15am) Watching an old episode of "Real World". I forgot to mention that Tracy got in my Tattooed Lou Garbage Pail Kids shirt she got for me off of E-Bay. Whee! I got a flyer job for the Heavy Metal/Punk Rock Karaoke event on June 8th! I'm really excited about doing that. My back is itchy. Someone needs to come over here and scratch it. I'd give you some potato chips. I cut my hair and it is, once again, short and spiky. I was Dr. Mario today as I did a little plumbing work and unclogged my bathroom sink that Lou fucked up when he ws here months ago. He got some neck hair caught down there or something. I'm off to wander around my apt. -josh-

5-25-02
(8:46pm) Watching "SG:CTC", the Willie Nelson episode. Hey kids! I got a new Daily Art piece up. It's the last one to fill up my sketch book. I've been hanging out with Stu all day and I don't have anything else to type. Eat me. -josh-

My lover is this donut

5-24-02 (part 2)
(6:16pm) Listening to Fat Hat. the new column is up: Vertical Composition review on Carl's Jumbo Fun Book. I got the pics developed of Stu and I hanging out on Sunday. We did captions for them and that takes care of another thing done for the mag. I have some new phone messages up. Have fun and thanks for supporting this mess! -josh-

5-24-02
(12:04am) Listening to The Broadways. Stu and I ate snapping turtle soup for our food review going in the magazine. It sucked really bad and we had to eat a lot of cheesecake to rid our mouths of the turtley taste. We then sat outside and worked more on mag stuff. I did my toy review and he worked more on a NI activity page. Stu and I then came inside and watched "Celebrity Boxing" just as Dustin "Screech" Diamond was finishing up his fight. *swoons* I tried to get stuff done on the computer but there was about 10 people IM'ing me. I did scan in some stuff from the coloring book I reviewed: Carl's Jumbo Fun Book. Stu left and I went to bed around midnight, which was very odd. I woke up a little after 7 and watched "Saved by the Bell". Look at the message board for more of a discussion of this but basically oil was discovered under the Bayside football field and Slater got oil on his muscles. Zack got sad when a duck died. I then typed up most of the new column and was all happy to be up and alert for the day. Work went really good and I came home and finished up typing and I chatted with two of my favorite Californians, Mandy and Jean. The message board is nuts and it takes forever to post to all the topics that are going now. I love it. I got so tired and went to sleep at 8pm and just woke up a little bit ago. I should go back to sleep so I can wake up and watch more classic SBTB episodes on TBS, the Superstation. Bling and a little more bling. -josh-

Animals!
it rocks when you get animal crackers in the mail

5-22-02
(7:53pm) Watching "The Adventures of Pete and Pete". I have some new Daily Art up. Stu and I are working on our magazine. I reviewed a coloring book that I'm also retyping for my new VertComp column. Look at the message board for some hilarious JoshComics t-shirt ideas made up by Jean. I love her. More later, A.C. Slater (I watched "Saved by the Bell" this morning). -josh-

5-21-02 (part 2)
(11:14pm) Watching TV. I just added a ton of Art for Sale. Go check it out! There's some awesome stuff that incudes Chauncey rough drafts, first appearances of characters, and other fun! Buy some to help my addictions. *Snort* *Cough* *Hack* Blee! -josh-

5-21-02
(7:35pm) Listening to Retard-O-Bot. I added links to all of my Vertical Composition columns and of my "Oddville!" review on the Writings page. I changed the look of some of the pages. Spend some time on the message board. It's worth it if you have nothing to do. -josh-

5-20-02 (part 2)
(9:17pm) Listening to The Usuals. Hi! I'm in a great mood! I finished 5 of the 16 pages for my new book and I'm really happy how they turned out. I wish I could type better, by the way. Now, that I typed that I am doing better. Whee! It is so cool that I have all my papers organized and that I have certain days set aside for certain things. I might even give myself a day to relax...maybe Saturday! How is everyone? Right now, I am 1134 hits away from 20,000 (Nick: 1134, 1134). I'm glad people keep on coming here. Back to the comics: This time I'm going to make sure I don't get burnt out by working on them. It sucked because right when I started inking a page tonight, my hand started hurting like it tends to do. I write and draw too damn small but I guess that adds to the odd nature of the books. Go back and reread some of my stuff and see what kind of hidden things I've put in here and there. Wow, I just feel way better than yesterday. I even woke up at a reasonable time. I went to bed after watching "Our Hero," the best damn Canadian show there is. I think I'm so happy because I'm starting back down the road of accomplishing things. Tomorrow I have set aside to do major Web work and then Wednesday I'm working on Dirty Josh Chronicles #6.

Sorry about the absence of Daily Art lately. I'll get back to drawing stuff for there soon. Buy the rest of the available pieces while you wait. Both of the crazy cats have been sleeping all day. That means I'll be kept up tonight by bickering felines. Check back tomorrow for a bunch of things that are getting added to the Art for Sale page. I have original roughs for the Chauncey books, four panel strips, and other odds and ends from the past 5 years. A few new pics up courtesy of Buddy. -josh-

5-20-02
(2:38am) Listening to Chauncey. Stu and I went to Tampa to buy some alkee-hol for our write-up because they don't serve liquor in St. Pete on Sundays. It was cloudy and muggy and nice. We listened to some ska and bought some rum. Stu had made some awesome homemade salsa and we ate that with Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips. I then bought a camera to get some odd pics of a Josh/Stu day. We got back to my house and sat outside writing down ideas for our magazine. I made us some food and Stu was drinking away. I don't drink much and I didn't tonight either because I ate too much and I didn't want to puke. I did get a little weird though. It was a little chilly with the wind so we threw on some more clothes and walked down by the Bay and onto The Pier. We talked about all sorts of things and tossed out more ideas to write about. We have a lot of great stuff planned for it.

It was great just being away from everyone except Stu today. Now, I'm going to work on comics and send out a new newsletter. A new Comic of the Week is up. Sayonara, ass patches! -josh-

5-19-02 (part 2)
(4:40pm) Listening to Richard Cheese (thanks to Tracy for burning me a copy of her CD). Spider-Man cereal is so damn good. I just got done chatting with Jesska. A rumor is going around Ft. Myers that her and I are getting married and having a kid. Whee! I can't wait! She told me I have to take her last name and that the child's name will be Dwayne. She's going to keep playing along with it and I've decided that we'll have a midget be our ring bearer and I'll wear a plaid suit. She told me she's wearing a garbage bag for the wedding. I'm going to go eat more because I'm a big fat pig. -josh-

5-19-02
(4:19am) Listening to Lawrence Arms (Ghost Stories! Whee!). I just need to type, type, type my day away. Hi there. A big giant thanks goes out to Phil, Mandy, Jean, Cameron, and Erin who've been keeping the message board rocking a lot lately. I'm chatting with my favorite Mandy right now and it's very nice. I'm in a weird, sort've emo mood. Ah, fuck it.

On Friday, Stu and I went to Publix for another blast of shopping hell but this time I took my tape recorder to chronicle stuff that was said as a possible thing to write for our magazine. I ended up spending $144! At least the food will last me about three weeks. We were there for almost an hour and a half. It's a wonder that people even talk to us. Work was then pretty busy and everyone and their fucking robot neighbor was hanging out. Some people find it funny to try to fuck with me when I'm working. I dish it out even more back to them and then I kill them with kindness and act like I'm a naive twelve-year-old. People are shit. I think stupid people is what is pissing me off right now. Lauren stopped by to act like she's cooler than me. That seems like a harsh thing to say but I now realize she tends to act like that a lot. She's leaving in a week and I'm going to miss her so much. I don't know when I'll run into her again. Everyone kept giving me chocolate-covered espresso beans and that kept me up all night. I have a bunch in me right now courtesy of Alexis. I got home and chatted on the computer and watched some 'Super Friends' and didn't go to bed until 9am.

I was having crazy dreams and Erin came over and woke me up around 3. We ate taquitos and watched 'The Simpsons', a lot of Buster Keaton stuff and some random TV junk. It was nice being a bum and not worrying about working on an art thing. She then made me dinner at her house and I watched the first half of 'Shawshank Redemption' (a favorite of mine). I then rode my bike home, which is so amazingly fun in the dark alleys. It was all downhill so I got back in about ten minutes. I headed to work and it was really busy again. A lot of redneck fucks were irritating me but I got through it. I got to see Diana after not seeing her in two months, I think, which made me smile. It was a lot of fun working with Nicky Nicks tonight. We closed up and it was raining. It was fun riding my bike in it and now it's still pouring. I want a big fat storm to come by here so I can watch it.

Stu and I decided for today that we're going to get drunk and then write about it for the magazine. I'm going to cook some fish on the grill and spend time with my best friend. I need to do that before I go insane. We always draw and drawing is my favorite thing to do. I'm going to try to get some new comics done, too. I'll let you know how our drunken escapade goes. Fuck you. -josh-

5-17-02
(12:03am) Listening to Junior Varsity. I saw "Pecker" on Comedy Central and it let me know why it's one of my favorite movies. It's great in making you want to accomplish something. -josh-

5-16-02
(11:22pm) Listening to Donkey Punch. I hung out with Alexis, Liz, and Jen as we went to Storman's in Clearwater to see Rude Squad. We then hung out at the Globe and I got to be around a lot of my friends, which is always nice. I talked with Phil about Optic Nerve and other comic crap. I need to get my ass in gear and get some comics done. I want a new book out by June and a new 'zine out sometime after that. I also really want to work with Stu on our magazine idea. I wish I had more time and I wish that I used the time I do have more wisely.

I forgot to mention that Jason called me yesterday. He has now ended up in NYC. I hadn't heard from him since he last visited St. Pete months back. It stormed a little earlier and both cats were all freaked out and they hid in the kitchen. Slap is right now finding it necessary to meow at the door. She is so cute. I'm off to draw. Wish me luck! Ha ha ha! Thank you to my friends who've been keeping the guestbook and message board active. I love seeing new things posted. Love, josh!

p.s. Katy's back now, too!

p.s.s. This part is for Austin.

Rude-Shooey-Addition

5-15-02 (part 2)
(7:45pm) Listening to The Skolars/Telegraph. Hi, skif dankers! I had a fun-filled afternoon with Ryan as we went around and filmed stuff for a Fang-Shooey music video. It was great hanging out with him after not seeing him in ages. I got some great stuff on film. I need to think of things to film for the Gaslight Addition video. The odd thing is just last night, Patrick and I were talking on the phone and that's what he wants to do is make music videos for bands. You have to see the ones we made when I was 16 or 17. Fun fun! It is so nice out. It's still hot but the humidity took a vacation and now it's windy. It's weird to actually see waves on the Bay. I got the new Comics Journal in the mail today and just skimmed through it thus far. I wish it wasn't almost 8 o' clock right now. I might take a nap. The cats have been keeping me up by either fighting or playing. I'm off. -josh-

5-15-02
(3:04am) Listening to The Sellouts. Where in the hell did the day go? The cats are running around and being obnoxious. Erin brought over the cutest little kitties earlier. They could fit in the palm of your hand and both Slap and Sid got so jealous. That's what happens when your cat gets fat and mean, you'll gravitate towards the cute tiny kittens. Ha ha ha! I'm going back to sleep in a few minutes so I can hopefully wake up early and get to work on some comic stuff. New daily art is up. love, josh!

5-14-02
(3:39am) Listening to The Broadways (best music during sleep, by the way). I added lyrics to "Fuck the Church" on the message board for anyone who cares. I spent a wonderful evening with Jen as we went to the Globe, down to the Bay, and then we ate ice cream. Sitting by the water was so peaceful and made me feel like I was experiencing a Saginaw summer. The, Eric Rude Squad gave me a RS sampler with four songs on it. Two of them are covers of "Walk Like an Egyptian" and "Who Can it Be Now?". Your face will light up after hearing them. I'm off to bed. Thank you for posting in the guestbook and on the message board. I really appreciate seeing my friends express themselves and I love those that keep in touch from time to time. -josh-

5-13-02
(7:48pm) Listening to The Broadways. Speaking of The Broadways, I downloaded a different version of "Ben Moves to California" and I found the one song that isn't on their CD's, "Fuck the Church". Doesn't that rock, Mandy? I have a new Comic of the Week up, new pictures, an updated catalog, and a new phone message. I try to keep you happy with all of this useless stuff.

Stephanie is taking off for a few weeks to visit her family in Indiana so I'm watching her cat, Sid. They've been bickering all day. Slap is passed out on the bed and Sid is guarding the floor. It's great entertainment! Um...I'm being lazy and not getting any comic stuff done but I just worked a bunch on the site so I don't care. -josh-

5-12-02
(9:25pm) Listening to Tricky Dick. Happy Mother's Day, mom! Hi kids! I'm being a bum...what's new? Stu and I just hung out and drew and are going to take a stab at working on another magazine together. I'll fill you in on details later. This one will definitely work. I didn't go to sleep when I got out of work so I stayed up until 9am and did computer stuff, read, and drew a little outside. I talked to my mom and then went to bed. I woke up at 4 and then Stu and I left to draw. I made my daily art for today at the Pier. Whee! I have nothing else to say. -josh-

5-11-02
(8:55pm) Watching some ZIM. I finally got some new daily art up. Stu and I just got back from drawing and I busted out the roughs of a few comics, including a new "Slap" one. Jen is back. I haven't seen her yet but I'm pretty excited about it. A lot of people are back from good old college so I got the chance to see a LOT of my friends I haven't seen in awhile. It was really busy at work last night. See you later, fuck teeth. -josh-

5-9-02
(8:14pm) Watching "Powerpuff Girls". The Chauncey Potluck pics are up and so are pics of all my latest paintings! The Chauncey one doesn't look as good as it is in real life because I took the pic before I made it shiny. Eat my toes! Bye-bye. -josh-

5-8-02
(11:43pm) Listening to Agent 51 on the new Atticus comp. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHAUNCEY!!!

The Chauncey Pigdog Potluck was wonderful! Thank you to all of my great friends who made me smile from big ear to big ear for making this such a memorable day.The guys of The Gaslight Addition took an old tack board and made a giant wooden Chauncey and spray-painted it and everything! I cannot wait for the pics from tonight to get developed. Tracy made a really good Chauncey cake and Stu made what was the hit of the party: little barbecued Chaunceys out of Vienna Sausages and floating in BBQ sauce! He made them look just like the little half-emo scum bag. Alexis made really good potatoes, Becky made awesome pizza, Tori made a really good asparagus thing, and Liz brought me a watermelon (ALL MINE!!!!). Cameron sent me a greeting and comic because he couldn't make it. Meg, Vanessa, Erin, Kaylen, Stephanie, and Chris all somehow put up with me. They rock. I was happy to show Skater Dan the new skateboards I did. The Garbage Pail Kid board is nice and the Chauncey board is amazing with the polyurethane on it (4 coats!). Amanda and Nina brought over a big hot dog balloon that they drew the best looking Chaunceys on I've ever seen. Everyone brought such great food, too. I hope that people had a good time all crammed in my apt. I felt bad for Tori because Slap attacked the hell out of her arm just like what happened to me earlier. Everyone got a free copy of Chauncey #8. Manada made yummy pancakes and even made a Chauncey-shaped one. My pal Erich brought me some SnakeDog beer (perfect for today's pigdog festivities) and some brew he made at home. I showed off movies I was in and the time I was on TV for the comics. I bought Public Enemy and Biz Markie CD's. Alix and her boyfriend and JoEllen then came by. They made me a Space Ghost shirt where he is thinking about Chauncey and how he hates Gerry Fried. Good old, SG! I'm so happy! TMBG on Conan tonight, too! Thank you everyone! -josh-

5-7-02 (part 3)
(9:00pm) Listening to Parka Kings. Go check out this comic starring me and my female clone done by Manada. Check out her site, too: Free Annoying Comix!. Boy howdy, I wants to decorate my last board with GPK cards. -josh-

5-7-02 (part 2)
(8:00pm) Listening to Choking Victim. 23 hours 'til the Chaunceriffic Potluck! I just added a couple new sure-to-be-famous Todd Webb phone messages. Blee! -josh-

5-7-02
(1:29am) Listening to The Broadways. Pop is so unbelievably good. I'm just having a merry time drinking some Coke and I love how much pop drives my tiny little self. I'm chowing on fish sticks and being all goofy happy to myself without even acting nuts or saying a word. I downloaded the Garbage Pail Kids movie thanks to a little help from Josh Griffith. "The Bomb-itty of Errors" was really cool last night. It was very enjoyable seeing a hip hop version of Shakespeare and sitting outside down by the Bay. Cocktail sauce should be my staple food. I'm hoping the Chauncey potluck goes well. I can't believe its almost been a year since Phil and I were sitting at the Globe and I was all depressed about Lauren breaking up with me so I started making fun of emo kids, and Chauncey was born! Here's a review of Spider-Man sent to me from Tracy:

"I saw Spider-Man today. At least they got most of the stuff right from the comic. MJ working as a waitress, Uncle Ben being killed (Josh: They should've offed him with Green Goblin eating him). I liked how they actually put the whole wrestling thing in there. I was hoping they wouldn't leave it out, but I knew they didn't when I heard Macho Man (Josh: OHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHH) was in it. I didn't like Kirsten Dunst's acting. She could have done a lot better...or found someone who could act a lot better (usually she isn't that bad). Tobey Maguire had the same dumb look on his face through most of the movie. Uncle Ben was too...too much of a scene stealer (he overacted like you said Josh) when he shouldnt have been (Josh: He should've had an afro, too). Aunt May was good (Josh: I want to do her). I liked the scene when Goblin scared her...thats what she gets for not letting him eat his food before saying grace! I liked the scene when people started throwing stuff at the Goblin because, well, I think if that happened in real life, people would have done the same thing...but I think the Green Goblin would have thrown a bomb at them in real life. I hated how people in the theatre clapped at the moments when people got saved...THE ACTORS CANT HEAR YOU!...god damn stupid people (Josh: My eyes rolled 80 times when this shit went on). This kid kept asking all these damn questions to his dad in front of me. WATCH THE GODDAMN MOVIE, YOU LITTLE BRAT WITH A MULLET THEN YOU WONT HAVE TO ASK SO MANY DAMN QUESTIONS!- It really pissed me off (Josh: BWA HA HA HA HA!!!). So I would kick his chair a lot when he would ask a question. He finally shut up...brat. I knew Spider-Man wasn't going to be a GREAT movie, I wish it was though. There were alot of previews too! No fuckin' wonder it took 2 hours and 15 minutes for the whole thing. The Hulk is coming out next year. I think it will suck. Why are they making so many comics to the big screen movies now? (Josh: Yeah, come on, make my shit into a movie and then I'll stop complaining. Side Note: There are scenes that Patrick and I filmed of a short live-action Josh/Also movie. It's really odd). Its not like X-Men was that good! It was just like Spider-Man. I wouldn't see them again until video. They didn't even get the story right on how he became Spider-Man. He was already part of the newspaper and he was taking pictures of this machine where you could go from one place to another (I could have it confused with the alien ride at Disney World but I dont think I am) and a spider got caught in it and was covered with radiation and bit him making him have radiation spider stuff (Josh: He was a big idiot and it happened at his school with the spider biting him, right? I don't remember this clearly either). They didnt make super spiders! They should bring the doctor (cant remember name) that turns into a lizard (he is missing one arm) in the sequel because we all know there will be a damn crappy sequel."

If they would've let me direct Spidey, I would spend about $15 and I'd be Peter and Norman Osbourne (He's Ozzy's Uncle). I'd get paid a hefty rate for directing my gem of a film and they would hire me on to make 45 new movies. I love dreaming. Hi Meg! -josh-

5-6-02 (part 3)
(10:34pm) Sitting in silence. I just added 65 new pics! Hope you enjoy. -josh-

5-6-02 (part 2)
(6:29pm) Watching "The Simpsons". I got the Chauncey skateboard painted. I'll have a pic of that up on Thursday or Friday. I'll also have pictures of the other latest paintings. The new Daily Art is also Chauncey. Two more days until he turns one! Hi everyone! -josh-

5-6-02
(3:11am) Listening to Half Hour to Go... I updated the Catalog page. There is another classic Comic of the Week. Keep buying that Daily Art, then I can retire. -josh-

5-5-02 (part 2)
(5:54pm) Listening to Taxicab Samurais. It is so damn hot out. The heat index is about 100 degrees. I just sanded and primed the skateboard I'm painting Chauncey on. I have to put the copies of Chauncey #8 together. Gah! -josh-

5-5-02
(3:12pm) Listening to Lawrence Arms. "Ghost Stories" is such a good album. I love singing about Martha Plimpton. I just woke up not too long ago from a glorious dream. You see, I want the "Sloshed Josh" Garbage Pail Kid card. I just dreamt that they made a "Josh Sullivan" Garbage Pail Kid card but with the same art as the other cards (remember they made 2 different named cards for the same piece of art). I have to keep describing stuff like that because we're getting older and '80s kids are now guffawing '80s adults. The '90s kids want to rule everything. I wish I woke up a little earlier. I want to work on some comic stuff but I'm going to go see "Shakespeare in the Park" at 6:30. I'm really excited about it! I wish I wasn't so itchy and that it wasn't so muggy. Is today Complaint Day? No, but it certainly should be. Adios amigos. -josh-

5-4-02
(4:08pm) Listening to Dance Hall Crashers. I'm hungry. I'm bored. Here is a story:

There once was this midget clown monkey named Larry who lived in a shoe and drank loads of rum. He was very popular with the ladies and even was able to get a few acting jobs alongside some famous actresses. One day, he wanted to see if he was one of those flying monkeys from "Wizard of Oz." It turned out he was and he flew high into the sky. His liver then gave out at 20,000 feet and his lower half exploded. Larry the (flying) midget clown monkey smacked himself so hard into the concrete that he was the only star on the Walk of Fame that didn't have five points. The End.

Post on the message board! -josh-

5-3-02
(5:35pm) Listening to Lawrence Arms. I just got back from seeing Spider-Man. I think I got myself worked up too much about this damn movie because it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I shouldn't have gone into this movie as a comic geek who knows everything about pretty much every character ever created. I know that most everything that gets adapted from a book or a comic isn't going to be 100% accurate (The Maxx on MTV did, though, from what I remember) but come on, Mary Jane didn't go to school with dumb ol' Peter. Where's Gwen Stacy? The overacting of Uncle Ben made me want to pass out. Yikes! I'm typing out stuff that makes me an even bigger geek. Some cool parts are the cameos by Bruce Campbell and Macho Man (OHHH YEEEAHHH!) and Green Goblin scaring the shit out of Aunt May. He probably wanted some wheat cakes, not to scare her. It was pretty entertaining but there could've been more. Another thing is the 8,000 previews they showed before it. I could've been home a half-hour earlier if I didn't have to see a dumb Austin Powers preview or Chris Rock trying to be funny. Oh yeah, Spider-Man is more of a comedy than an action movie. Just go into it realizing this and you'll have a better experience than me. Stan Lee totally should've been crushed in his cameo. Don't save HIM, Spider-Man! There was a guy who was squeaking his seat too much. I wanted to punch him in his big fat Spider-Head.

I had an adrenaline rush riding home on my bike. I was chasing this lady in a car and I probably scared the shit out of her. I didn't have my backpack that weighs a bunch on and so I was cruising like I was The Flash. I almost hit some idiots going to BayFest, which is right by me at Vinoy Park. I want to go tomorrow to see First to Last play at the Battle of the Bands. They're really good. I'd much rather see them than Ja Fool or Nickelass.

Tomorrow is Free Comic Day all over the country at comic shops. Go out and support this great medium I'm trying so hard to break into. Get some cool comics and maybe it'll turn you onto something good to read. There are so many good books out there, and a lot of them are comics. Ok, time to eat. -josh-

p.s. Way, way late congrats to Phil Tubb (FLIP!) on his engagement. Everyone is going to be married and then I can have the leftovers...um, wait a minute!

5-2-02 (part 2)
(10:44pm) Listening to Jeffries Fan Club. Stu and I had another stupendous shopping experience at Publix. We caused trouble and somehow wasted away an hour and a half. I bought some stuff for the get together and I got a camera so I can have pics for the site. I updated the catalog with Chauncey #8. I might take a nap. I'm going to go see Spider-Man tomorrow! Thwip! love, josh! p.s. Join in on the mayhem on the message board.

5-2-02
(5:14pm) Listening to The Usuals and chatting with my favorite redhead. The Chauncey Pigdog Potluck is coming together so good! There are plans for a Chauncey cake, a game of "Pin the Tail on the Chauncey", and I have Chauncey #8 done and printed up so it'll get released that day. I finished the book last night and I didn't have anything else to do so I went with Stu and hung out at The Globe. I got back and went to bed because I knew Mandy was at the Lawrence Arms show and I didn't want to chat with anyone else. It was a good sleep.

Mandy talked to Lawrence Arms Chris about me for a second, which is great. I want them to not escape me. They'll be having dreams about me and then they'll put me in the band because they know they should. Stu-bee and I are going to Publix so I can get potluck stuff. I can't wait for this shindig! Skater Dan is getting a Chauncey tattoo! Thanks again to Jeremy for the Chauncey B-day greeting. -josh-

5-1-02 (part 2)
(3:36pm) Listening to The Suicide Machines. The new Daily Art is um...odd.

One week from today is Chauncey's 1st birthday and I'll be having a Chauncey PigDog Potluck at my place. Let me know if you want to come and I'll let you know the time it starts. You better bring something good to eat! Skadios, toe lickers. -josh-

5-1-02
(2:00am) Listening to Our Lady Peace (yeah, weird, isn't it? Taking me back to 9th grade). Just wanted to tell you that I'm a schmoe and congratulations to buddy icon maker supreme, Josh Griffith, on his recent engagement. I hope I don't get married for another 10 years so I can continue to pursue my life as a gangsta and supreme ruler of my apartment. That damn cat is always in control! Argghhh! Yay JoshG! bye bye -josh-
