3-21-03 (part 2)
(3:54pm) Listening to Skeptictank. I now have a livejournal thanks to Mandy. I'll be fazing out the daily words (but still have them archived on the site) and hopefully posting all my update junk in the journal after the end of the month. Now, you'll be able to comment on the crap I write. Skadios! -josh-

(2:36am) Watching bullshit on TV.

"Unity" by Operation Ivy

There's a war going down between my brothers tonight,
I don't want no war goin' down tonight.
Civilization? Ha! I call it as I see it.
I call it bullshit! You know, I still cannot believe it
Our evolution now has gone the way of hate
A world evolved resolved into this stupid fate.
Stop this war!
All so different yeah, I say we're all the same
All caught, you know, in the division game.
Self-destruction fast impending like a bullet.
No one can stop it, once it's fired, no one can control it.
Stop this war!
A final word, wait it's not a call to action
We ain't no sect, we ain't no fucking faction.
Unity, Unity, you've heard it all before,
This time it's not exclusive we want to stop a war.
Unity as one, stand together,
Unity, evolution's gonna come!

3-20-03
(4:51pm) Listening to Mates of State ("A Control Group" by them is my new favorite song...go download it!!). We're at war and it's providing all the news channels with some actual news now. Before 8pm last night, MSNBC had their precious little "Countdown to Zero Hour" clock going and they showed a bunch of commercials and then hyped up the fact that we're going to go into a country and kill numerous people to find one person. G.W. wants to get Saddam in order to impress his daddy, George Sr., like he's going off for deer hunting season. Do not support this war. We vote for people who don't want to listen to us once they get into office. Go get registered to vote and when these assholes are wanting your vote, tell them to fuck off. www.punkvoter.com is a great place to get started...don't be lazy. Speak out and don't let anyone hold you down. Corporate America and greed is fueling this war and as soon as we get done with it, we'll be going after North Korea. Oppose the United States? Get blown up! Have weapons to defend yourself? Feel the wrath of our numerous weapons! The name of this war is "Operation: Iraqi Freedom" and the true name of it is "Operation: Take Over Iraq and Make Everyone Know that the U.S. is a Bunch of Bullying Dicks". G.W. "Coward" Bush needs to go fight himself instead of my friends and everyone else's friends and family that might not come home. I feel bad for my sister because her boyfriend is going to have to go over there. Continuing with the popularity of reality TV, we now have true reality: We're making more enemies and fueling hatred. I'm disappointed that we have to deal with this.

In other news, Zack's birthday was yesterday and I acted all goofy around his family and Melissa's parents. I love them all. Oh yeah, earlier in the day, Chris Fink's mom had told me she was really impressed by me being so young and having such a smart execution for humor. Me, Stu, and Zack are going to paint today and I might put some more stuff on E-Bay. The light switch cover sold for $33!! Today, this guy Rand asked me if I'd like to audition for a parody version of "Romeo and Juliet". I'll let you know how that goes. I love you all. Don't hate, masturbate. -josh-

p.s. A guy heading over to fight in Iraq has legally changed his name to Optimus Prime! Check it out here.

3-19-03
(1:42am) Listening to Rainer Maria. The guestbook is back! Sign it please, if you're reading this. -josh-

3-18-03
(9:32pm) Listening to Skeptictank. Tenty-two and a half hours until G.W. Bush unleashes his minions. Go fuck yourself, you asshole of a president. I hate our leadership so much and if we all die, at least remember that I made some of you laugh.

Yesterday, I woke up in the early afternoon to Stu sleeping on our couch. It looks like he's going back to Saginaw sometime next week, which is really what he needs. He's going to be going to school and he really wants to teach kids and I'm proud of him. I feel bad because we dragged him back down here and the whole group of us has seemingly disbanded. Anyway, I worked on cleaning and hanging more stuff up in our lovely abode. I stayed up all night looking for cool songs to download and I fell asleep around 5am.

I got up at 9 and then went to work, which was cool. JoEllen brought me back some music magazines and some Japanese band stuff from South by Southwest in Austin, TX. I got out and went to Star Booty and caught up with my love monkey, Leeroi. I put some flyers out there and at Daddy Kool and then bought some bleach for my hair and a set of robot magnets. I went to the post office and I had gotten my CD's I just won off E-Bay. I was surprised to see that Utah's Skeptictank had Evan Dorkin draw their CD cover! I also got albums by The Sellouts, Common Rider, The Supaflies, Ray-Guns, and Dumb Luck. I got home, bleached my hair (round 1) and continued work on my next installment of Vertical Composition. I bleached my hair again (round 2) to attack the lowly blue that was inhabiting my follicles and then I took Slap to go visit Tony. I then ate a lot of ice cream sandwiches, bleached my hair again (round 3), read my new mags, and dawdled around on the Internet. I've got to go scan Daily Art so have fun kids, tomorrow we go to war. -josh-

3-17-03
(4:53am) Listening to The Gamits. First off, go check out Todd Webb's awesome band Rangeboy (named after the "Pete and Pete" episode) on his site: www.toddbot.com. Todd is super keen and as him and I tell you, "Thumbs up for Justice!"

On Saturday, I put up the Chauncey original with no reserve so check that out under the auctions section. Work was real awesome and I thank everyone who came out this weekend! Keep coming back for more Josh shenanigans. I got home about 3:45am and Zack, Melissa, Neal, and I were drinking (me way more and faster than the others). Melissa fell asleep and us boys played my goofy wrestling game for the Dreamcast. I attempted to act like I could win all the matches while I was drunk and drinking more proved to be real funny to me. I went to sleep around 6am and woke up at noon and just ate cereal for awhile and relaxed.

Zack then said that we should go grocery shopping dressed up and I agreed. We put on some superheroic garb and then went to Publix. Oddly enough, we didn't get many gawkers so we started talking in our superhero voices and all the old people loved us. Go figure because when I go there not dressed up, they all hate me. There was even a little kid running around in a Batman outfit like the one I have. I fell in love with an old man who looked like a 100-year-old European version of Buster Keaton. We got our groceries and ate sushi in the parking lot and yelled at people. We were getting ready to leave when Zack asked this old man if we could take a picture with him for a school project. He said yes and here is proof of how much fun we have. I have more new pics up on the site, too. Anyway, we got home and put our stuff away and headed to the beach by our place. I took Slap with us and she got scared that I was going to leave her there. After that, Melissa made us an awesome meal and I watched TV. Slap started acting real weird because she wanted to be outside again. The new Simpsons wasn't very interesting so I took a nap. I guess there was a really cool storm and Zack said he tried to wake me up but I was too zonked out. I woke up around midnight and wasted a bunch of time up until now and I drew a brand new Chauncey comic for the Comic of the Week and now I'm going to clean some more. Go bid on my E-Bay stuff! -josh-

3-15-03
(8:45pm) Listening to Hot Stove Jimmy. The E-Bay stuff is doing real good! So, I added something super rare: an original Chauncey comic! There's no reserve on it and the starting bid is only one cent. Come on out to the Globe tonight and rock with us...we're cool most of the time! -josh-

3-14-03
(3:05pm) Listening to Tommyrot. I'm so happy..la la la..happy happy happy! Ha ha ha. I got the last Slapstick record I needed in the mail today. My E-Bay stuff is doing pretty damn good. Something cool I'll be listing on there is the original art to the comic "Chauncey tells everyone to fuck off". I want to see how that does.

I just got a crazy idea that Alkaline Trio should bring Lawrence Arms on tour with them when they come here. I would be in heaven. I think this weekend is going to rock at the Globe! I'm finally at a point where I don't have to be busting ass on stuff at home so I think I'm going to work on redesigning my site and hanging more stuff on my walls. Hey, guess what? I love you! -josh-

3-12-03
(8:00pm) Listening to Operation Ivy. Photojournalist Lara Cerri came over and interviewed me for almost four hours on my art and comics for a possible feature in the St. Pete Times. To show how much of a small world this is, Lara took the picture of Johnny Socko in the CD case of their album "Quatro". I think Mandy will be able to check that out since I think she has that album. Anyway, I talked about everything from how the comics started to what my aspirations and goals are to all the stuff that has influenced me. It was definitely an awesome experience to talk about EVERYTHING involving my work. That would be so great if I was in the Times. As far as the Cracked Magazine thing goes, I find out in a few days if my stuff is what they're looking for. I'm going to keep working on my art and making it better than it is now.

Almost all of my stuff is put away in the new place. I hung some more stuff on the walls and then I relaxed by watching a Don Johnson/Jennifer Connelly movie before passing out at 5am. Time to work on more stuff...maybe I'll list some junk on E-Bay. -josh-

p.s. Did anyone else notice that Warped Tour this year is in St. Pete?! It's at Vinoy Park, 6 blocks away from my place! Yee-haw!

3-10-03
(7:56pm) Listening to Fishbone. Before I forget, Alkaline Trio is playing at the State Theatre on June 1st!

Yesterday, the three of us went grocery shopping and I pissed off some people by saying goddamnit and I freaked them out with my blue hair. We got home and I cleaned while Zack and Melissa watched the Simpsons DVDs. We went to the beach after dinner and watched lightning and sloshed through puddles. We got back and I ended up taking a nap on the couch and I woke up with Slap curled up with me and the rest of the night to kill. Zack woke up and we played Dreamcast games until 6am. I woke up at noon and then Becky called to see if I wanted to go with her to pick up the slides from the photo shoot. We got them and came back to my place to look at them with the projector and there are so many cool pics! She's getting the black and white photo contact sheet tomorrow. She left and Zack came home from going to the big flea market in Webster. I started painting and I made four things: a Chauncey/Robot "Do Not Disturb" sign, a superhero Chauncey light switch cover, a new skateboard deck with an Angry Anarchist Albino on it, and a new canvas painting with Mini Minion on it. I have to go polyurethane that stuff in a few minutes but it's so cool sitting outside and not being disturbed by anyone while I create. I framed some more stuff and I'm taking more to Suicide Productions Tattoo Gallery and Cafe Monet tomorrow. With the new stuff, I'll have 15 paintings hanging up around the city so go buy some, you cheapskates! I have to organize my mess I've made in my room. I'm so happy that I got some art stuff done today! -josh-

p.s. The new Ninja Turtles cartoon sucks so bad and I think when I die, I'll leave behind a pretty skull.

3-8-03 (part 2)
(9:17pm) Listening to Lawrence Arms. My modeling shoot was today and we got three rolls of film with various poses, clothes, and hairdos. I looked like Ed Norton for some of the pics, James Dean for others, and then I had blue hair for the rest. Tina is amazing. She made my hair look so cool. Becky, Queen of Photography is also very amazing. She's developing the pics on Monday and then they might get put in a magazine. So, we did that, got some food to go from Evo's, saw a dog get hit by a car driven by an old broad and then we went to Todd's work to eat. I'm eating toaster streudel now and I have to go to work soon. Smooches. -josh-

3-8-03
(3:52am) Listening to Lawrence Arms. I sent off my stuff for Dick Kulpa of Cracked Magazine to look at so wish me luck. As of right now, I have four paintings hanging up at Cafe Monet (where Stu works) with more slated to be put up soon. I'm working on some new stuff for Suicide Productions Gallery and then everything else goes on E-Bay. I want to sell off all my old paintings so I will be surrounded with newly painted shit. Time to buckle down and bust out this new column entry. -josh-

3-6-03
(4:50pm) Listening to The Usuals. I have so much stuff to do. Oh well, the harder I work now, the easier life will be later. I'm going to start working on the sixth wave of my paintings so if there's anything anyone would like, let me know. I'm toying with the idea of doing a Comic of the Day but I'd have to have way more free time to do that. The gas guy is here right now switching out a meter or something. I hope he doesn't blow me and Slap up. Come on out to the Globe this weekend and say hi! I haven't seen so many people in forever. I wish some girl would come in and sweep me off my feet. -josh-

3-5-03
(10:50pm) Listening to Mr. Meano and the Clodhoppers. Well, lookit this...an update! I'm getting my shit together and updating everything on here. I scanned all the daily art that hasn't been posted and added a few things to the catalog page. There's a handful of Megacon pics up as well as some I took today. A few paintings I didn't have pics of are up now, as well as the Chauncey watercolor painting I did last Friday.

I'm writing about Megacon for my next column entry but here's some stuff I don't think I'm including in the report. We got to Bill Nord's late on Friday night because Bred had to make copies and I fell asleep on the floor of Mail Boxes, Etc. I got drunk and danced Saturday night and had a great time hanging out with Bill. Orlando has an insane scene at night. I'm going to send some work off to Cracked Magazine. The head of it, Dick Kulpa, seemed to like my stuff and gave me real good criticisms and then asked me if I was going to send him more. I made a lot of new fans and everyone was real receptive of my stuff, which was surprising. I met three of my Ink 19 cohorts, who all came up to my table within 10 minutes of each other. We got back into town on Sunday night and I found out we could've stayed and seen Mustard Plug play at The Social. I put most of my stuff away and started decorating the new place with my toys and stuff. I got my Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet records in the mail yesterday. I need to be done with this site shit for today. -josh-
